You can do it, no doubt, but there are some really excellent reasons to take a toad. There are many places where you may want to suddenly pull to the side of the road so you can get out and watch bears, wolves... etc. Many places the bear jams occur you won't be able to get a MH that big off the road far enough to stop. We rented a car in Cody and drove around the park several days and several hundred miles. Much better at 30 mpg than 8.

You will fine in YNP. In Glacier, as already mentioned, you will not be able to go over Going to the Sun road with your motorhome. Going to the Sun is one of the main attractions. You can take the red bus, but I don't know what that costs. Have a great trip-they are all nice parks to explore.
True.. there is alot to see there.. alot of driving, stop and go.... I think you would be fine, it would be jsut moe of a pain.. when I was there some areas are stop and go with people and some places were there are animal siteings cars are stopped everywhere.. Not to mention packing up every morning.. we would be gone the whole day and come back to site in the evening...
can it be done, sure... just easier if you had a seperate vehicle..
Have fun..nice place...
kknowlton wrote: You can, though you'll be eating a lot of very expensive gas (gas is traditionally more expensive in YNP than most of the rest of the country), and you may find parking spaces for a large vehicle to be hard to find in some spots. You might be happier with a toad or rental, but if it will be a major hassle to have a toad for the remainder of your trip, you'll be ok otherwise.
If you do sightsee in the MH, be sure to bring some things to leave in/mark your campsite when you leave for the day - especially if you're in one of the dry-camping CGs in the park.

We were in Yellowstone last year -- drove from Washington State without toad. Our original plan was to just take the MH around the park, but after talking with some other people along the way, we decided to rent a car there. We stayed at the Yellowstone West KOA, which is in West Yellowstone. There was actually a car rental company in-town that will let you pick-up and drop-off the rental right at the CG.

We just used our 22ft Winnie to travel the loops. We stayed 2 nights in Grant Village and 3 nights at Madison. We wanted to stay at Canyon, but it closed for the season a week before. Canyon is a great middle spot and has the market and gas station.
We never gave renting a car a second thought. Having the food and bathroom made the trip easy. We would just pullover to the side of the road, make lunch and watch the wildlife. It was once in a life time trip and I wasn't going to try and save a buck or two
.
Go for it. We did it last sumer in our 31' Class C and had no problems driving all the loops. Yellowstone and Teton are the premier parks in the US, IMO, for RVing around.
