ToyCrate, sorry to hear of your tire troubles! Did Greenball offer to pay for your trailer damage?

My parents had a Goodyear tire explode on the road and goodyear paid for the damage to their rig.

Toy Crate...I assume you have 16 inch wheels...I believe your problem would be over using Michelin XPS Ribs! Expensive but I have never heard of one giving way under proper usage! For that matter...I have never heard of one giving way period!

Clearance issues keep me with 15 inch rims. Very few options!

Best of luck!

Nope. They say that damages are not covered. I'm wondering what will happen after I cunsult my legal representative to find out what options I have. We'll see.

With their history with problem tires I think that your legal representative could recover your damages.

My new camper came with Hiway Trooper LT235/85/16E tires and I would like to know if anyone has had any trouble (blowouts, separations, Ect) and if it would be wise to replace them now rather than later.

I know they are made in China but they are an LT vice an ST.

The reason I'm asking is we are looking at a 5th Airborne pinbox and wondering if I should spend the money on tires or a new pinbox. I would pick safety over comfort any day.

Thanks,

Kevin

I have the exact same tires on my Fifth wheel. I purchased in in late 2006. Within the first 800 miles, I had a right rear tread seperation that destroyed my diamond plate siding, rear step, and under protection layer. I called greenball and ended up being referred to America's Tire for a new tire and inspection of the other four (including spare). Well, ALL tires were showing signs of seperation and had to be replaced. in addition, I had to have all of the damage fixed. After getting the new tires in November, I took one (400 mile) trip and ended up with a bolt in one. No big deal because I bought a warranty on all of them through Amaerica's tire. Just walked in and got a new one for only the cost of the new warranty. I then took a trip last Thursday that was going to be 600 miles round trip. On my way home yesterday, I had another tread separation in the same location. This one did more damage than the first one including breaking my siding and shreddind the under layer completely off. Needless to say, I am not happy. I called Greenball and they are more than willing to send me a new tire, but $900 in damage every time is killing me. Now I feel like I should pay the $$ for a new set of better tires, but they are EXPENSIVE. THESE GREENBALL TIRES ARE TERRIBLE. I shouldn't have to worry about my tires destroying my fifth wheel with less than 1000 miles on them. I have been covering them since I got the new ones thinking that keeping the sun off of them would prevent deterioration. Greenball is saying that they do not cover damage cause by their tires. Bad day for me. I have considered giving up on traveling all together because it has cost me so much in repairs that it ruins our trips. Any suggestions?

You could of had XPS Ribs for that $1800....

Good point! Maybe I will take my Government "save the world, fix the economy and try and forget how much gas really cost" Check and spend it on a new set of XPS Ribs.

I've had the same set of Mich XPS Ribs on 2 different 5Ws and about 20,000 miles. No cracks or blowouts and minimal wear.

I am now filing a claim against them so we'll see what happens. Greenball had FedEx pick up my bad tire and tread so that they can ''Examine'' it before sending me a new one. I want them to repair the damage and replace all four tires with ones that will last more than few months. Ill post when I figure out what is going to happen.
