If you do gamble, slots is the worst game to play where odds are enormously against you even compared to Roulette. Stick to blackjack or even poker. Unless you're playing slots for the entertainment value of the bonus features. I like walking around and just watch people play their bonuses. I'm more of a blackjack and craps player.

******************************************************************
I think someone has misinformed you about gambling...

Think about this....

Blackjack only pays $1 for $1 ....or.... $1.50 for $1 ....if... that's IF.... you manage to get a Blackjack...(a two card 21)

Other "Table Games" have similar Low odds compared to Video Slot Machines..

BUT ..... VIDEO SLOT MACHINES ... whether they be a "Poker" game or a "Reel" game... pay more often and with more payback than any table game.

For example .... just $1 in a dollar video poker machine can win between $500 and $1000 ... depending on the video card game played...

and that one dollar in a video Reel machine could win just as much or more ... once again depending on the game being played ....

I know of no table game that will pay that much for a $1 bet.... and that includes "Live Keno"... which pays out more per bet than any other "Live" game..

So... if you want a better chance of winning big with the small amount of money you have budgeted for gambling... Stick to playing slot machines

No he was correct the house edge for the table games is usually significantly lower than on the slots. You say you can win 500 bucks for a dollar in a slot machine but what you are not considering are the odds against doing that.

It's been a bit since I learned the actual numbers so I might by slightly off, but playing craps with optimal strategy taking double odds yields a house edge of about .6 percent. A good blackjack player can keep the edge at under 1 percent. Single zero roulette is about 2.15 percent, double zero is 5.25 percent. Bacarrat is around 1 percent.

Most slots hold close to 10 percent, Really really good ones hold maybe 2 percent. A good video poker machine may actually pay close to 100 percent with perfect play but you have to know how to find those based on the pay tables.

Now I'm not talking about the newer table games like let it Ride or Caribbean Stud, those are bad bets even though as you say you can win thousands of dollars on a a single dollar bet.

Hi Roger... (Jumbo Cranium)..

Please visit my Home Town, Carson City, Nevada... and please bring lots of money...

We locals love tourist with money...

We will meet at the local casino here in Carson City and we each will start with exactly $20 and will gamble for exactly 1 hour...

I'll play slot machines and you play any table game you like...

At the end of one hour, we'll go to the coffee shop and have a cup of coffee while we count our "Winnings"..

The loser pays for the coffee..

heh heh heh ..

TWO CENTS WORTH
The story goes that a man died and was approached by the Devil who told him that he could buy his soul back for a dollar. The man searched his pockets and could only come up with 98 cent. While begging the Devil to forget the two cent he was short, an Angel happened by and hearing the Devil laughing, asked the man, "Would you mind if I put in my two cents ?" The Devil got so mad that he exploded in a puff of smoke and the man's soul was saved.
The moral: Sometimes putting in your two cents worth makes a difference.

I prefer Dr. Pepper. 20 bucks and 1 hour don't prove a thing. I love people who can't grasp mathematics.

But I think I will win anyways.

hahahahaaaa.... Make mine a coke.... me and Dr.Pepper don't get along

Actually Roger, I do understand math..very well... and I have read many of the so-called experts who tell about the "Odds" of various gambling games... according to mathematical formulas...

In our local newspaper there is (or was) a columnist who wrote a weekly column about how to win at gambling and what the odds are on a particular game.. How to bet, when to bet big and when to fold... etc..

But the question I asked is... if he is so smart with all that gambling knowledge.. why is he still working at a small town newspaper instead of being a rich gambler..

it's the same type of situation with the person who can quote in every detail how to disassemble, repair and reassemble a diesel engine... but when you hand him a wrench, he has no idea what to do with it...

Here is a true story...

Before I retired, I owned a food service business which I contracted to the state of Nevada at the Clear Creek Youth Camp..

We had a maintenance man who was a nice guy, but should never been given the that type of job....
Lloyd was a pretty smart person but all of his mechanical ability was from a book....
He could quote mathematical formulars .. ohms -vs- watts, .. PSI -vs- Volume .. etc.....

One day the upper heating element in my number 2 oven stopped working..
He took out his multimeter and stood there for about twenty minutes telling me that ........
"it has to work... it cannot be broken ... there is no way anything can be wrong with that element... because my multimeter shows that it was working.."

DUH ?? So I asked him..."Lloyd if there is nothing wrong with the element, why isn't it working" ?

He just stood there with a blank look on his face...

It's the same situation with the people who write those books about "How to Win at Gambling" They are smart people and obviously good at writing and selling books... but if they are so smart at gambling... Why aren't they rich?

My offer still stands ol' buddy... when you are out traveling with your RV this summer, stop by Carson City and I'll buy lunch .. or a Dr. Pepper, which ever you prefer ..

John
