In georgia 520 runs from Columbus to Albany a nice divided four lane. From Albany follow road to Thomasville and 19 to Monticello, Fl. South of Monticello you can pick up I-10 east to I-75. With the exception of the two interstates this route is scenic and enjoyable.

From Huntsville, I would suggest I-65 south to Montgomery- Hwy 231 South to I-10 East- then near Tallahasse take Hwy 19/27 instead of I-10 to I-75

19 is a GREAT ROAD! Limited campgrounds except Chrystal River I would suggest going over to I75 around Brookville.

Have a great trip.

skipnChar apparently haven't been to the flatland of Tennessee from Jellico to Knoxville on I-75 or on I-24 just W. of Chattanooga. There are some pretty fair mountains on the area. Some people get afraid of those areas and try to avoid them. We don't have mountains like Colorado but there are a few goodies East of the Mississippi also.

We travel from SW Ohio to SW Florida and back every year. I much prefer the I-65 route. There is one problem area however - Nashville. Lots of traffic, and I-65, I-40, & I-24 all merge there. Watch the signs and be ready to change lanes on short notice. Try to avoid Nashville during morning and afternoon rush hour.

U S 280 South of Birmingham is not bad. It should be all 4 lane by now.
GA 520 from Columbus to Tifton is one of the best highways anywhere.Dont remember the Hy number, look at your map, but best to take the bypass around the north side of Columbus.
