Hello Troops:

Need to learn if Hwy. 18 north out of Big Bear up and over the mountains, through Lucerne Valley to I-15 is an advisable route for a 36' RV towing a toad?

Sure hope so as it would save a lot of back-tracking, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

It's pretty steep, w/ lot's of tight twisty turns. I would do it in an SUV & trailer, but a class A, not gonna happen,IMHO.

See ya out there!!

Not a fun way to go. I doubt that it would save any time, probably take longer than just going to the 15. IMO

I drive a 40ft bus up and down about twice a year, with no problem and there are trucks that use that rd all the time. I also work in Lucerne Vly and I see RV & toads up and down all the time.

There are about 4 switchbacks that you do need to keep your eye on. It
all depends on how comfortable you are with your driving skills.
