Does anyone have a recommendation on the current best(1) battery for a Lance TC 1121,that will accomodate a slide in drawer with dimensions that are 14" long, 7" deep, and 10.5" high. Recharges with inteli charger and battery separator...from Truck, 120V, or generator. I am looking to get the most backup power I can for dry camping...
Steve and Patti,03 Dodge Ram 4x4,Quad Cab,Duelly,HO Cummins Diesel,Firestone Air Bags; 03 Lance 1121,all ops but solar, Torklift w/48"ext,Bodiak front mount hitch,Lowe Boat 17'w/90hp ETEC Jet, getting retired Army guy fishin and huntin wife still workin!
Since my forte isn't in meticulous maintenance, I've opted to go with reasonably priced batteries and half-way expect to replace them every four years or so. A pair of 12v Groupe 27's from Sam's or Wally World fit right nice in my 1121's sliding tray. So far, I'm pleased with their performance.
I just am looking for the best...AGM or WET Cell...I do not believe in my camper which is an 03...there is room for 2 batteries. The tray and battery area are designed for one battery. (Measurements in original post). Maybe Wally world is the way to go....the Trojan or MK 27 or 31's which fit are $250+
The GP 31 size gives you a little more amp hours. I had a 31 in our last Lance. It was just one I got at the local RV supply house. Nothing special. I'm not sure you get anything extra when you go with "the best" battery. They are all just lead, sulphuric acid and plastic made from recycled scrap.
I finally settled for a GRP 29, MAXX from Wall Mart...it is there largest here that is a RV, Marine Battery, with an 18 month replacement warranty....for 75.00. It just fits in the sliding tray...and it has a little better specsthen some.
