I have an 07 laredo 32rs fifth wheel. We are having a problem running the a/c and water heater at the same time. We have had a certified electrician look at the camper because when those 2 things are on we can't use the microwave or toaster or a variety of other things, without the breakers popping. the electrician said with the a/c and water heater it is pulling 27 amps (it's a 30 amp rig). Is anyone else having this problem?? Shouldn't it have been designed as a 50 amp so that we can use these things at the same time???

Pretty much the norm for the RV industry.

Your total load may be just below the RV capacity, but the start up surge will get you every time.
Upgrading to a 50 amp service is costly, and most complain about the cost of the rigs as it is now.
Besides you are still limited by the park's capacity to supply you with 50 amps.
Most of us just turn off the AC when you want to use the micro wave or a hair dryer.

We have a 30 amp system, we don't try to run everything at once, we don't even bother with the electric water heater, it uses very little propane and is quick to heat up, so we leave it on gas.

You'll need to monitor and manage your electrical loads to keep within 30 amps, there is no other option, unless you want to do an upgrade to 50....

We have run an extra extention cord off of the post (they usually have extra 120 volt 15 or 20 amp breakers) to the unit to run extra things if need be.

50 amp power is a feature that costs more for the manufacturer to install. Sometimes it's an option. Sometimes it's included in the base unit.

It's something one should be aware of before buying an RV.

12 amps - water heater
13 amps = air conditioner
13 amps = 1000 watt microwave
5 amps = power power converter (estimate for 'typical')
3 amps = refrigerator element

46 amps total, can't run them all at once with 30 amp service unless the rig has a power management system, which 5th wheels typically don't.

Fridge and water heater are very efficient on propane. I run both on propane and I tend to have less issues with running multiple items.

Very normnal for all 30 amp RV's. You just have to think some before you turn on all electrical appliances. No need to run water heater all the time either. Turn on both heating sources when needed and it will be hot in minutes.

It's not only Keystone. 30 amps just goes so far. We only use the electric water heater if we are not using AC. If you are tripping breakers in your panel check the voltage coming in .. you may have a bad plug or connection or not getting full voltage from CG. If you are tripping the CG circuit your just using too much.
