Nascar is a predictable bore, for the most part. The short tracks not so much, but they go so slow it is a bore also.
They don't crash enough, (like the truck series does) They don't fight in the pits anymore, they speak like news anchors when interviewed, etc.
So I now only watch drag racing, in FULL SURROUND SOUND!!!
Go Pedregon brothers!!

And drag racing is more exciting than Nascar with each race lasting less than 10 seconds?
If you think Nascar is boring you must really dislike Formula One and Indy car. Formula One has very little action as they rarely pass and no side by side racing or anything. Indy car isn't much better.
I like Nascar a lot, but rarely watch because I don't have the time to watch a two to four race most of the time.

You have to admit, drag racing doesn't have a duck that can do a backflip.
Carl Edwards and his Aflac duck just cracks me up.

The same can be said about golf and the rest of the ballsports, but I'm certainly not going to say it,.......not on the outside...
I've been hooked on motorsports ever since at age 7 my Dad took me to a Midget race at Evans Oval.

Just like the so called "professional" wrestling; big name comes out strong, then starts to get beat up and then suddenly comes back to win.....

I grew up with SCCA Sports Car racing in the northeast during the early 60s. Nothing like that before or since - all starting at Watkins Glen (I believe) in 1949 or so. Back then a racer could drive to the track, race (and win!), and drive home. Many of the cars were streetable, unlike the NASCAR "cookie cutter" COTs...

I personally have become disenchanted with nearly all motorsports. I don't even attend car shows anymore. How many chromed out SBC's can a person see in a lifetime anyway...
Racing has become so weighed down with rules and regulations that they're not much more than a long drawn out chess match via internal combustion. Too much money had been invested in the cars and drivers to bang them up. You could literally take NASCAR, restrict the engines power and the cars top speed to half of what it is now, and you'd have the same race, only slower. Drag racing does still hold a little excitement for me because the power and speed is so violent and quick that almost anything can happen at any time.
Rally racing is truly my last refuge in the motorsport world. Sure, there are regulations to follow, but once you leave the starting gate its all up to you whether or not you'll even complete the stage. Go as fast are you dare, pass whenever and whereever you can. Just build your car to spec, fill it with fuel, strap in and do the best you can to make it out the other side right side up. Its fast, its scary, its dangerous, and its chock full of some truly awesome driving talent. WRC, Baja, and Dakar rallies are my favorites. Even Robby Gordon races rally.

I have been a die hard NASCAR fan for many, many years but I find myself this year very disinterested in it. I haven't even watched the last two races.

What changes would you guys make in Nascar to make it better? I've only been watching the last few years so I really don't know how to make it better.
Real street cars will never come back for safety reasons. Could a Fusion, Camry, Avenger, or Impala even reach 180 MPH in stock form? Would they be stable and driveable at 180 MPH for any length of time?
I would like to see fuel injected engines. When was the last time a production car was carburated? Some of the racing series give out ECUs so the programming cannot be tuned for an advantage.
Not sure I want to see no limits on engines again as Richard Petty won quite a few races simply due to better engines and cars.
