As I make plans for fultiming, the one question I have not seen addressed on this forum is "What are your plans when age or health prevent you from traveling?"

Go to the escapees web sight and ask the same question. They will give you the low down on a campground they have in, (I think), Livingston Texas. It is for those who wonder " what will we do when we are sick or too old to travel?" I think you'll find it interesting.

I think you find the answers are as varied as the people.
We put the money from the sale of our house away and will use it to buy another house somewhere.
It won't be nearly as big and won't have nearly as much land and will be in a much warmer place with a lot less snow.

That's correct, it depends on your style of planning, and/or what exactly you mean when you say "...age or health prevent...".
Some will wait until it actually happens, and some of us will choose to do it sooner than later.
If you plan for it now, you have to look at the different options.
For us, the decision was made easier by the fact that we decided that we preferred to quit fulltiming now, and revert back to RVing. We became convinced that by living in just the right location, in just the right little house, we would end up with less stress, whenever the declining-health issue hits us.

As Clay said it varies with who you ask. Each has different ideas and strategies I am sure. For us we have 3 or so and it all depends on the situation, not all of them includes the stick house again. We are prepared, but just depends on the circumstances.

We have decided that when we become disenfranchised with or too ill to continue, we will purchase an acre of land and build a small house, with shelter for the mh. The problem will be if one of us departs this life before the other, that will be difficult. I love rving so much I would try to continue, but, as some one said on another thread, one is a lonely number.

When you sell your house, put the money into some kind of savings account. If you spend it to buy your RV, you won't have an exit strategy.
On the other hand, age and illness need not prevent you from continuing to live in your RV in a permanent location. You can even hire someone to drive it north and south as the seasons dictate. In most respects, an RV is easier to manage than most houses.
A third alternative is to live in a senior apartment where you pay by the month and where meals, laundry, etc. are included. If we were fulltiming again and became too feeble to live in our RV, that would probably be our choice.
