On our Silverado the tabs went down off the tabs under the plastic, guess they chnaged their design a little? Did you use the right two holes in the frame? Sorry that bothers you, our 2004 Yukon stuck out worse than that, guess it all depends on the end users satisfaction with the look.

Fellow RV r's - I feel this forum is a good educational tool for those who may not have as much time in a motor as others. I looked to this site to gain much knowledge before the purchase of my rig. Who knows somebody else may have had a similar experience and have a solution. Thats what we are here for right? I do not expect that the folks on this site will solve this issue. Sure I am not so happy about the appearance because I take as much pride in my cars as I do my RV. I think a company like Blue Ox that sells the now you see it now you don't type product should have at least a paragraph in the install instructions that disclaims the issue of a Tahoe. Especially when they admit they know about the problem. And again most of the frustration was from the sorry about your luck treatment I recieved when trying to get to the root of the problem with Blue Ox.
As far as the "If something as insignificant as this bothers you" comment is concerned, poor customer service should bother us all. I am just trying to relay my experience to the next guy who may be looking for another view.
Brackets never bothered me. I figure it's a tow car and the chips and dings from kicked up stones etc.. will be far worse than a small part of the base plate sticking out. The brackets look no worse than some of the brush guards people put on their trucks.
I have had a Blue Ox baseplate on my Silverado and also my Tahoe and both have been almost invisible. Blue Ox products are the best that I have run across.
