Personally. Were it me. The DVD would have went back to town with mom. With a sorry to hurt your feeling speach, when in truth she would have brought in on herself.
When our childern were little, and we went camping. no TV came along. After all there was no power to run it. We had other rules as well. fist was. No one went into the camper, except to sleep, or change cloths. We stayed out except for that. It's what we went for.

BTW. DD makes fun of me now, Because the TT has lights in it.

I'm assuming it is tuned to Animal Planet?? There is a good show on Saturday AM's called Good DogU.

Of course...unless it's "Animal Precinct" in which case they watch Spongebob Squarepants !!

I agree. It's also nice if weather reports are of any concern to you. After all, you can only "enjoy the woods" for so long before you go stir crazy (shorter period yet when it comes to kids). Make the experience enjoyable for them, not something they don't look forward to. TV is fine while 'vacationing' -- and that's what camping is, isn't it?

That's the way I look at it. I never claimed to be a "back to nature" camper, lol. Give me my a/c, satelitte tv, and my laptop !! I need to be able to look up weather forecasts, keep in touch with family, check out local attractions and then be nice and cool when I come back from a long day of exploring

I agree with using it when it rains, etc. A good compromise and when it does rain they will be occupied.

I have 3 TV's each with its own DVD player. While camping we do it all. Outside mostly, but there are times when we come inside to relax in the A/C. At night the adults may enjoy adult conversation and beverages around the campfire, while the kids play video games or DVD's in the bunkroom. To each his own, but I feel no need to be the TV/DVD warden. I consider my rig more of a rolling condo. We can have all the amenities of home wherever we are. Lakeside, woods, beaches or concrete pad RV lot, we bring it all and enjoy it all. TV's with DVD's included.

I have learned that if I don't make a big deal out of stuff that don't matter it usually turns in my favor anyway. We like to watch a little tv before bedtime.

I'd be more concerned with the blatant disrespect your mother showed for your parenting decisions. That player would have gone back with her, pronto.

Having said that, we have one for the car, for long trips, and in the mh we have a tv/vcr, strictly for really bad weather, as a last resort (and for daddy/daughter weekend when I'm not there). But it's rare it's on.

We have a TV/DVD in the kids bunk room and then one in our room. On a rainy day I like to watch my TV and the kids like there's. I see nothing wrong with that but we also limit how much TV they get and if it nice out we kick them outside to enjoy the outdoors and get some exercise!!!

That was my position, too, not whether or not to have TV.
