I had tripped the generator breaker early in the winter when running space heater while micro was running. Reset breaker and all was fine. Now, when I run the generator the microwave and outlets don't work most of the time. Assuming a replacement of the 30amp breaker at the generator is in order? When I switch it on/off, it has very little to no "snap" to it....just kinda moves backwards and forwards between on/off. It looks pretty simple to access but wondering if it may be something else?

I would change the breaker first.

Interesting that you posted, not trying to jack the thread, but had similar issue today. We were out camping and my some was heating something up in the Microwave. He yelled out because the MW just quit working. I checked the breaker and it appeared to be okay. We were running a small space heater for the first time, everything seems to be in working order - except the MW.
We were on shore power.
Any thoughts to either of these issues?

I would also check breakers and fuses in your vehicle. You may have popped the the microwave breaker, or possibly the GFI circuit the heater was plugged into. Reset all the GFI plugs in your vehicle. You didn't mention it in your first post, but maybe you have done it by now.

My vote goes to the EFI breaker. Obviously if it is on the same circuit as the other stuff and goes, everything goes. I have had that issue a number of times.

Many generators have two breakers. Make sure both are reset.

Ok I am now confused. I understand the GFI-ground fault interuptor- and often have tripped those and forget about them and check everything else first. I would point out they also wear out and replacement is easier than most things. I look at breaker boxes and fuses and get more confused. So is the EFI something different or is it just the newest tech replacing the GFI or are they the same and referred to interchangably and I am the last to learn this.

The GFI outlets are normally found in Bathroom and Kitchen areas where you are near a sink. They pop much quicker than fuse or circuit breakers, and are designed to keep you from killing yourself. That's why they pop so easily. The electric heater was most likely plugged into one of these. It would not be unusual for both the Generator circuit breaker, or fuse, and the GFI outlet to pop for same problem.

P.S.: Sorry for the confusion."EFI" was just a typo on my part. I probably could have worked my way out of the typo. "EFI" stands for "Electronic Fuel Injection". Since the V10 engine has EFI, there is a fuse to control the engine computer. However; it had nothing to do with my replies. More to do with not enough coffee.

Thanks Mark. Now my stupid question. Where is the EFI breaker and what does it look like. What does EFI stand for. Thanks for the education.

Tom N5TC may well know something I don't, but I suspect a misprint. The only common EFI's I know are Electronic Fuel Injection and Electronic Flight Instrument (in airplanes).
By the way, it seems to have gotten overlooked that the OP said "microwave and outlets don't work most of the time" (my emphasis). If his problem was a tripped and overlooked GFI, they wouldn't work any of the time, eh?
