I have had it with the lame design of the Raptor generator exhaust. For those who have not seen it, on Raptor fivers the generator is on the left side of the front box, with the exhaust pipe ending at the right front side of the coach. It seems Keystone put the generator where they did to reduce noise (good) but decided not to route the exhasut pipe properly out of sheer laziness.
I am sick of listening to it, and breathing the exhaust cant be that good either. I have the 299MP.
My plan is to buy an Onan "resonator" and take the whole thing to a muffler shop. I will have them bend the pipe 180 degrees or so and route it over to the left front. And weld in the resonator, for good measure. The rubber propane lines are about a foot back from where the pipe would be. I do not see this as a problem. If I find them to be getting hot, I will shield them. I dont have a bedroom slide. I cannot see the exhaust fumes leaking in under the living room slide as being any more of a problem than having them pollute under the awning.
Does anyone see any holes in my plan? I am absolutely not interested in a Genturi exhaust pipe. I dont need anything more to carry around and set up.
Thanks.

Well I did own a 2005 Raptor 3612 and had my exhaust pipe running where you are planning on routing yours. I had several problems with the detector sounding off since it was leaking in to the cabin. I ended up using a home made Genturie anytime I ran the generator. The dealer even extended the pipe a few inches, but still had it go off. If you re-route it I'd plan on buying or making your own Genturie to be safe.

Any ideas where it leaked in? Does a 3612 have a bedroom slide?

I also have a 299MP, and I turned the exhaust around and had the muffler shop put a 90 degree bend in it, so it goes straight back for about three feet, then makes a 90 and comes out the street side. It is about 9 inches from the 4 inch dump tank pipe. Where it comes out is under the hot water heater compartement, about two inches from the back of the compartment. We have had no problems, and have had it this way for a year. Let me know if it doesn't make sense.

I also have the 299mp. i rerouted my exhaust out the other side also. i just unbolted it from the genney, rotated a 180 and bolted it back down, moved one of the exhuast hangers and bolted it down to the propane tank base, then took my sawzal and cut the excess pipe off. i ran a piece of rubber hose over my propane hose to help insulate it, not that there is any heat there, just as a precaution. no problems so far ive had it out a handful of times since.

I like that idea, very simple. But doesnt the generator require the pipe be "X" feet long to achieve the right amount of back pressure? I will call Onan today and get the answer.

I called Onan. The exhaust pipe can be any length. There is no minimum or maximum. I am going to try flipping it 180 degrees.

Before you cut it, the other reason I didn't just do what bstock did is I use the JT's stabilizer bars and I had to route around them. If you are going to ever use them, you might want to put the bend on them
