Before WalMart went to the $4 price, I was paying $58 a month for 4 different generic prescriptions at a local pharmacy. After their announcement, my prescription costs lowered to $18 a month at the same pharmacy for the same prescriptions. Competition can do wonders. I do not believe for even one second that the local pharmacy switched suppliers, they simply reduced their profit on the generics.

One more reason to stay away from wal-mart. I know I will probably be beheaded for this since so many rv'ers like to stop over at wal-mart parking lots, but do a little research on the company before purchasing their products.

I guess I should have not thrown such a fit when Hawaiian Airlines served me a cookie with my meal made in India. I screamed and hollered ( sort of ) showed everyone else on the airplane and wrote a letter to the CEO. They still serve them I just wonder how much money they can save by out sourcing a oatmeal cookie

I wonder just how clean the oven is where they come from??? Plus what about all the handling that cookie goes through before you get it on the plane.

Walmart switched from "All American" about 12-15 years ago. I read an article which stated Walmart has done more to hold down our cost of living, with their pricing than any other force or group we've ever had. Something to think about.

And, they are directly responsible for raising the cost of living, and subsequently the Standard of Living in their supply countries such as China and India.

In effect, they have risen the Standard of Living in the third world, while our's has stagnated with inferior products at progressively lower prices.

Their existence has created a "leveling" effect. Being that the U.S.A. is now a service economy and no longer commands the internationally disparate high wages enjoyed by the working class from the 1910's-1970's, the leveling is hardly noticed by the current working class folk because they can still "shop at Walmart"!

Capitalism! Ya gotta love it!

Wall Mart has indeed held down the cost of living By forcing suppliers to find "less expensive" places to make things they have also held down employment and wages here in the US. They are a major contributor to un-employment, to the failing US Dollar, to the high price of fuel and everything that is grown or shipped or transported... In short they are a major part of the PROBLEMS we have here in the United States... And if you'd like to know who used to sit on their board of directors.. Google Hillary R Clinton.

Aren't you worried that the Walmart "force" will come get you. LOL. Don't you think that you are a bit extreme? We have 95% employment (better than the 90's).
