The 2 tanks are the same pressure. The difference is when you tie into the trailer lines they are low pressure, because there is the regulator at the tanks on the trailer which makes the lines on the trailer low pressure BBQ has a regulator to change the outlet pressure low.

That was what I was thinking but found out after I did the mod.
There is a "tee" that you can use to hook into the propane system before the regulator. I believe one is called an "extend a stay". The tee fits onto the trailer propane tank before the regulator. The line from the regulator hooks onto the other end of the tee. There is a high pressure connection for your BBQ and another to add an external tank if you wish. Camping World sells the tees and hoses you would need.
The Olympian BBQ is one which will work on low pressure. You must purchase a different connection hose thru the factory to make it work. The original RVQ is no longer made but there may be a replacement available. VK

Some have removed the regulators on their BBQ's but make sure that is recommended by the manufacturer. You don't want to void a warranty or cause a problem by doing that. The RVQ and the Olympian (with a factory supplied hose/fitting) will work on the low pressure system. Any BBQ that works on the little bottles of propane is high pressure. Be safe and do your homework first. VK
Or you can get this low pressure addapter kit for any BBQ HERE
