Yeah, I know, but I'm looking for cheap over night parking and a beach where I'll have easy access and parking for our RV, not to stay, but just spend the day at the beach.

when are you going over? we are heading over the 23rd of this month and will be parking the rv at disney during the day so we have a place to go back to in order to relax and eat and we will be boondocking at the camping world just down I-5. they have a dump station and water and allow overnight parking. we are planning on doing that for 2 days then we are going up to universal studios and doing the same thing up there. the camping world here in denver always has a few rigs parked in its lot overnight so im sure the ones in california are the same. i figure that we will only be parked there from @11pm to 7am so i don't feel its worth paying the average 55.00 per night to park in a rv park for the 8 hours we will be sleeping. we are also leaving the toad at home to save on gas, last time we went over to disney with the rv we took the toad and stayed at anaheim resort rv near the park, while it was nice we were only there to sleep and still paid for parking for the toad at the park. the rv parking at disney land is just outside the gates and a short ride on the tram near the parking garage so its very convenient to leave the park and de stress for lunch and dinner or if the kid needs a short nap without having to go all the way back to an rv park.

hope you have a good trip, and if you are going to be over there the same weekend your more than welcome to join us at campingworld

Hi I can't help you with a place to park, but I have had the pleasure of visiting some of floridas best beaches. #1 favorite- captiva Island beach on the west coast. #2 Fort walton/Destin on the gulf(great stuff for kids to do their too) #3 Stuart beach #4 Delray beach. I could upload some photos if you want my son can't wait to go back to skimboard in the clear waters! lol ! Woops did you mean disney land in Cali?

Roadgirl75, yeah I meant Cali. I wish gas wasn't so expensive so we could make the drive to Florida.

dotcom, that is exactly what I'd like to do, and also go spend a day at the beach. We're not sure when we'll be in Cali, but it will probably be sometime at the end of June or first of July. Too bad our dates didn't coincide.
You pretty much confirmed my concerns. Paying for a parking space I will not be using enough. $55 a night will help pay for some gas. Camping World will have all my necessities available, water and dump.

btw, have you called CW to ask if they will allow you to park??
Make sure you do. One of Arizona's CWs does NOT allow over night parking.
Please post what you find and, if it’s not too much trouble, their address. I would like to plan out my trip w/ maps to and from CW and Disney, and also to the beach I will visit, w/ the wonderful suggestions of other posters.
Also, if you don’t mind, let us know how the trip goes and if it will be worth not paying for an RV space. THANK YOU and have fun!!

no i have not called yet. some of the camping worlds do not list overnight parking however if you look on their website many do. im sure the ones that don't list it do not allow it due to a city ordinance like wal-mart.

i will post how it goes.

There is nothing easy (or cheap) about staying in/around Dingy-Land. We have stayed at Anaheim Resort RV Park before and we enjoyed it. The nicest thing is the shuttle. It's still free I'm pretty sure. We are boondockers almost ALL the time. But, that's in the forest or desert. I have no problem pulling over for some sleep at a Wally World, Love's, etc. but I would NOT leave my TT in a busy parking lot in So Cal for hours and hours. It's just not a safe environment, for the RV or for the family. In the long run, it'll be worth the extra $$$ to stay in a park. Also, if you can find a State Park, many have non-hookup sites for $20 a night. That's pretty cheap. Good luck.

Something I wonder about it if Walmart or Sams allow overnight parking does that mean you can disconect your trailer for the day and go to disney and come back at night? I have never seen that.

update, so we boon docked over here from denver stopping at all the usual areas like truck stops etc. once we arrived we went looking for the camping world that we had seen on their website that had a dump station and showed overnight parking allowed. long story it did not exist, we ended up staying at the cc camperland for the night to the tune of 55.00. but we needed a dump station and everywhere we went, wal-mart, sams, etc said no overnight camping. i spoke with the guy at the campground and he told me the camping world i was looking for was purchased by disney to make a campground and they closed it down because they were charging to much and no one would go there. not sure how much of that i believe as we are avid disney visitors and we never heard of a disney campground in california, but the camping world near disney with a dump did not exist and it turns out that anaheim has a law against overnight camping and the police will ticket any rv not parked in a campground. so the 2nd night we headed a little farther out to a wal-mart of I605 over by long beach, it was @ 10 miles away from disney and they allowed overnights and were very nice. last night (the 3rd night of the stay) we headed up to camp at the camping world off I-5 in valencia north of universal studios they are also supposed to have a dump station and allow overnight parking according to their website. they do have the dump station but they do not allow overnight camping according to the sign posted as you drive in. also i have questions about the dump as there are signs posted that say the water is dangerous. not sure what they are talking about there but it seems strange to have an rv dump with non drinkable water to fill tanks with. as for the overnight parking we stayed right next door at the wal-mart that was more than happy to see us. tonight we will search out a wal-mart closer to universal studios. more updates to come as we move along the trip to phoenix and then back to denver.

dotcom, sounds like it has been more trouble than it's worth.
sorry to hear about that. Thank you for posting your experience and keeping us updated.

Vapor_Trails and Marvin46, no, you do NOT park your tt at a wal-mart, we simply would like to sleep there over night and during the day drive our motorhome to disney or the beach. And yes, some wal-marts and cw do allow overnight parking, but you can't park your tt and take off in your tow vehicle, at least not that I'm aware. Besides why would you want to leave them there and take off??
