Just installed my prodigy v2.6 brake controller in my 02 Chev silverado.
My question is it normal to have the 'dot' lights stay on which means it is powered all the time? I used the proper manufacturer harness and I believe I have it installed correctly.
I am concerned because on my F-150 the same brake controller shut off everytime I shut off truck's ignition and with the truck ignition off the unit stays on now in my Chev.
Are Chev's just different or have I missed something in the install.
I lost the manual and am just throwing this out for other prodigy users to comment.
Normal... at least for mine.
Probably by the time you go back outside and check on it, the "dot light" will be out.
Takes about 15 min. with no brake activity.
Yup, it's normal. As soon as you hit the brake pedal it is on. And it will stay on until you leave it alone for some specified amount of time (15 min?). I would say that the one in you F150 was wired improperly.

My Prodigy stays on for 15 min in my F-150. As soon as the brakes are tapped it comes back on. Normal
