We'll got in a hurry and forgot (with neighbor watching) hooked up old TT and started to pull forward and nothing, gave it some more gas and heard a big "Clank/bang" so I stopped!! and my neighbor was yelling that I didn't remove the chock from between the tires! my other good one is I forgot to put take the TV down from its shelf and crash, when I got back from dumping the tanks I found pieces of the TV. I was mad but I could only get mad at myself!! I laugh now!

Was in a hurry and accidentally left the bunkhouse TV and the bedroom TV on their shelves and pulled out. Needless to say, neither was in their proper place when we got home. Killed the bedroom TV and damaged a drawer in the bunkhouse when the drawer slid open and the TV dropped onto it.
Last spring we took our brand new TT out on its maiden voyage. We found a few bugs that needed to be worked out, and since my DH had the day off he decided after we unloaded our gear he'd take the TT directly to the dealership. So he pulls in front of the house, he and our daughter haul our clothes, food, etc. up the driveway while I went inside the house to put things away. Once unloaded our daughter came inside to tell me "everything was out and dad left for the dealership".
In fall we decided to upgrade to a larger rig and sold the TT. A few weeks later DH finally confessed the secret he and our daughter shared for 6 months; he misjudged the width of the TT when pulling away and had to have our cargo door replaced after he scraped the side of the mailbox. Ah, just love those father/daughter bonding moments LOL.

1. Hubby removed rear chocks before hooking up and hit the hitch at the wrong angle, pushing the trailer back about 3 ft and dropping it on it's front jacks. Only damage was the jack plates bent a little.
2. After getting home from camping one weekend hubby opened up the awning to let it dry. He forgot about it and starting mowing the lawn. Since it was a brand new mower he forgot that it had a rollover bar above his head and he hit the arm to the awning and ripped it off the camper.
3. Our biggest oops came when we traveled 8 hrs at night to Oxford, MS for an LSU game. We got there at 4:00 in the morning and it was about 20 degrees. We couldn't get into the parking lot for tailgaters b/c some A-Hole blocked the way so hubby decided he could go through the ditch. I guess he must have been really tired b/c instead of going in at an angle he took the ditch head on. The truck made it through just fine, unfortunately the camper wasn't so lucky. The back end of the camper hit the pavement and the rear jacks were bent beyond use (had to be replaced)the tires were suspended over the ditch, not even touching the ground!! It was a disaster!! I told him the camper COULD NOT BEND THAT WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's a little funny now, but so wasn't funny then.

1. Forgot to put our side mirrors on truck. Got 5 miles and had to turn around in a small place and go back to house to get them. Now carry them in the truck tool box.
2. backed into a tree with our first 5er, cost $600.
3. Caught a tree limb and tore off 2nd AC shroud, cost $105.
4. Forgot our hose, water filter and pressure regulator at a campground. $40
5. Forgot to close bedroom window on 2nd 5th wheel we owned. Didn't lose window but was driving down road with curtains blowing in the breeze.
6. Drove home with a limb and leaves stuck in our ladder, no damage but embarrassing.
This wasn't us but a friend of ours checked into a campground and with care backed in and set up on concrete pad perfectly. Saw people looking at him. Got out and he was parked and set up on the patio.

1. It's that darn pocket door I somehow miss periodically. We have found it slid to the closed position, but didn't appear to have any damage. Although, it could be the reason the door is loose and kittywampus now ~ the slide rail has pulled out of the ceiling stud (or we suspect someone missed the stud so it may not have been screwed in properly to begin with and has worked out over time.) Shouldn't cost anything to fix ~ just DH's time.
2. Forgot to make sure the bumper cap was pushed in snug; lost one 10 foot section of sewer hose and of course the bumper cap somewhere between Abilene and Lubbock, TX. My DH had just cut the 20' hose in half for the times we were at a shorter distance to the sewer hookup, so at least we had the other half left. Finally got end caps that stay put, and that extra 10' of sewage hose. Cost approximately $30.
3. Forgot to plug the rechargeable flashlight in and of course it rolled off the counter onto the floor, near the slide. The next time we stopped and I was moving the slide out......well, you know the rest of the story. The crunching sound liked to scared me to death Cost approximately $15. to replace, but could never find the same type and not too happy with the new one.
4. Okay, here's the biggie. We pulled into a park in Utah toward the end of our two-month excursion. The young gal at the desk wasn't sure which site we'd fit in so she said we could pick one ourselves. We drove through, and after making a complete loop, we came back around to the one we spotted that we liked. One evening as we were taking our daily walk around the park, I found a rain gutter spout on the ground and told my DH, "Oh, I feel sorry for whoever ran into these trees!" (They were gnarly and mean looking) "Boy, I bet whoever it was, was so mad and I bet it really tore their roof up, but I have an extra spout ." We had only planned to stay at this park for three days, but decided we weren't ready to go home so we opt to stay a few more days. It was after five days and we were checking and double checking everything out before we were ready to pull out....And guess what I spotted? If you guessed what I thought were leaves on the top of the roof, and upon closer examination, found the roof had at least 20 or more rips along the curved edge....you're right! That was our spout!!
Needless to say, this made us very ill. Now all we could think of was beat-feeting back home (we still had some 600 miles to go.) We were lucky that we didn't catch any rain and made it home without further incidents ~ thank goodness! Quote from RV repair guy: $10,000.00 for new roof; $5,000.00 to patch ~ he was nuts. We ordered a 25' roll of Dicor patch, along with all the proper sealants, and after several hours of cleaning the surface, removing the rain gutter and really taking our time and care, we did an awesome job for $100. Nary a leak ~ Not so good for trade-in value, but we plan to keep what we have for a long time, as most of the mishaps have been user error We learned a valuable lesson; although, there were no 'one way' signs posted, our attention was focused only on getting to pick the perfect site.
