You have to go down to Gilroy or Watsonville. I recomend to go toWatsonville. Gilroy gets hot during the summer time unless you like the heat.I run away from it prefer cold weather. The temperature at this campground is very pleasent. By the way I forgot to mention this campground has partial hookups.
Quite a few vineyards, Gillroy Gardens (used to be Bonfante Gardens), golf (Cordevalle & Eagle Ridge), really great sausage (Corralitos Market in Watsonville), Sunset State Beach. We prefer the Tan Oak campground, but it can be tricky to get an RV up there. Valley View I is fine - decent room between sites. Valley View III...not so much (the sites are pretty tight).
Just wanted to point out that Mt Madonna county park is just off of Hwy 152 between Gilroy and Watsonville.
The best part regarding camping at Mt Madonna is that it is only 18 miles from home for us!
Lots of redwoods, lots of shade. The fog can roll in any time of the year and when it does it will seem as if it is raining as the moisture drips off the redwoods.
