Yep, I know what you mean. It almost happened to me last summer and this place was billed as a Truck and RV wash.

t10,
If there was a way to do a satisfactory wax job on a vehicle it would be common knowledge. You have to rub it.

I have used a pressure washer and never an issue. I have an older MH so no vinyl decals my strips are real paint. I do have a long handle brush so I spray all the loose stuff off, then use the brush and soap and then spray it off with the pressure washer. I never get it close enough to do any damage.

I've always hand washed. I've been thinking about a pressure washer used at a distance in conjunction with a brush. I think as long as you keep the high pressure at the end of the wand away, you will be ok to rinse/wash. I would also like to hear more on this.

I bought a 1700psi electric pressure washer from Sam's Club and it works great. It gets 75% of the dirt/grim off but you always have to brush it.
Its nice for those quick spray offs between the good deep cleans. Again you just have to watch around the decals but you just have to use common sense!

Our contact at Forest River says do not use pressure washer on our unit. Hubby uses long handle brush while I rinse. Don't take us long at all.

I have a 3000 psi washer that I got at Northern Tool. I use it from a distance to get everything wet (and soapy with the chemical injector) using a low pressure nozzle. I use a long handle brush and a mid-pressure nozzle to clean it off. Never have had any problem with decals doing this so far but the bugs fly right off. Once I have the soap rinsed I use the pressure washer to put on liquid wax. Let is dry and I'm done.

The 'trick to using a pressure washer is avoiding potential problem areas, like around decals, window or other seals. They require a 'touch' and can be dangerous if used carelessly.

It sounds like those that do use a pressure washer use it "At a distance". Sounds like the same result you would get using a hose with a nozzle (-:
Asside from cleaning the wheels and tires I keep my pressure washer from my coach.
