My wife and I just purchased a 1999 Dodge Roadtrek. It has 73000 mi on it and the age code on the tires says 1901 which as I understand it means these tires were manufactured about mid May 2001. I need new
tires. the ones that are on it are Michelin LT245/75/R16 LTX A/S. I called a LOCAL RV dealer that handles tires to get some information, and he said that So. Korean Hankook are great for B use. Just wondering if anyone has had experiece with these tires. I looked in the archives but am thinking perhaps some have had more recent experiences. Thank you for any responces.

About three years ago I purchased a set from Big O tire for a Honda Prelude I used to have. Granted they were a sport tire instead of an all season but they had absolutely no traction in the rain. I went to Tire Rack to see how customers were reviewing them and some say they are great and some had the same experience as me.

I have them on my 07 Pleasureway Excel, 15,000 miles so far and no problems. Drove from Ohio to Las Vegas and back, Ohio to Florida and back, no handling issues, or anything else negative.

1st, make sure they are Load Range E rated tires.
I have not had any experience with them, myself.
Jim, Handbasket, has done a bit of tire swapping - hopefully he'll chime in....
or you may search his older posts that referred to tires.

My 05 Excell came new with Hankook, no problems so far with over 40k on them. Apparently the Korean manufacturer is one of the worlds largest makers of truck tires. That doesn't mean they are good or bad though.

I bought four really aggressive tread snow tires for my Durango in 2006. I've run them two winters and they have been fantastic. I realize we're talking apples and oranges, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy another set.

No experience with Hankooks. My experience with a same-era Dodge on LTX's was overwhelmingly negative in terms of driving. Dunno how much of this was Dodge problems & how much was the Michelins. Some of it is detailed in the FAQ's here. From this, I'd really suggest that you get a stiff sidewall, but unfortunately, I dunno if the Hankook qualifies or not. I liked the Yokohama Geolandars on my Chevy RT, and I like the Bridgestone VSteels that are OEM on the Tiger, but they're not wearing very well... likely cause is my driving and where I do it, tho'.

I never had "HANKOOK" tires but here is my opinion on them. About 3 yrs ago i was trying out a new Pleasureway Excel with some unknown foreign tires on it that i never heard of at a dealer west of my location and it handled terrible so i returned it and tried out another new P.W. Excel with Goodyear Wrangler tires on it and it had a squirley feel to it so I tried out the third P.W. Excel with "HANKOOK" tires and it drove like a dream. (all three had correct air preasure in the tires). Bob

I have 22K miles on a PW Excel and have had no trouble. My local tire dealer says they are excellent tires and that many 18 wheelers are running on them.
