Hello all-I'm new to this site and I've been getting the trailer (Starcraft 21CK) ready for the season--got the roof all cleaned up, and eternabonded the seams, exterior is waxed so now I'm moving to the inside. I've noticed that the vinyl floor has a "bubble" approx 2 sq ft in size located just inside the door and into the seating area in the front of the cabin. Feels like the floor has come unglued in that spot or that the subfloor in that area is bad. I can't see or feel anything on the underside of the trailer. So my problem is that the flooring was installed before the interior--so it runs under the cabinets, benches etc. Any ideas how to fix this?? I'm thinking cut the flooring out that is not under anything--fix the area and then install new flooring of some kind (maybe laminate wood or new vinyl) thru the whole trailer--but that sounds time consuming and expensive. Any other ideas?? I just want to get to the campground. Thanks in advance for your input.

I wouldn't get in a big hurry. As the temperatures rises, the floor may go back down. When they do have to replace the vinyl, they generally remove the floor trim, cut the vinyl around the edges, use it for a template for the new vinyl and put the trim back down.

Well I cut out the vinyl floor and the water damage is very bad. The wood underneath was black--and wet. The wood under the foam is also wet/rotten. I'm calling the insurance co. in the a.m. to see if its covered..I hope it is. Anyhow does anyone know of a good RV service center in N.E. Ohio/ N.W. PA?? I need to get this fixed in a timely manner--I've already paid for a seasonal site and the wife and kids are ready to go camping.

Slappy, Sorry that it turned out to be a worst case scenario. If you can't get service locally you could make a road trip to Topeka IN and let Starcraft do it. They do have an excellent repair shop. If you decide to go that route PM me & I will give you more info.

Now I'd wonder where the water was coming from. Likely not up from the bottom, but down fron the top. You said you eternabonded the roof. What kind of problems did you see up there?

P.S., I see you live in Ohio. Might be worth the drive back to the factory if you're not going to do it yourself.

Well the insurance co. says its covered--yeah!
I brought it to Mentor RV Sales and Service and am waiting for them to call me with the estimate for the damage repair. They were the closest place to my house and said they had done floor repairs in the past, plus they have 30 years experience fixing RV's so I'll see what they have to say.

When you were on the roof and Eternabonded, did you see any areas that looked like potential leak sources?

Hope your repair experience is a good one.

Don't know all the details, but an aquaintance had a Starcraft, maybe a 2001 or 2002, that the insurance company had to total.

They never used the campground shower, so all 4 of them used the camper shower. Apparently the shower piping had a break in it, soaked and rotted out the entire floor. I don't think they knew that the spongy floor was a problem until my wife stepped on it and told them they had a serious problem and that they better get it looked at fast.

I would love to know what insurance company covers water damage. I called mine and they said if it is due to slow water damage than it is a maintenance issue. If it gets flooded comp covers it.

Let us know who covers water damage please!!
