Here are a few pic of the 26" HD LCD I put in our mh. Talking out the old big tv frees up a lot of room and weight. You can see the straps I used to hold the LCD in place while going down the road in the Behind TV picture. We are 50 miles from St. Louis and the Batwing antenna pulled in the HD channels very clear.

HI,
I put in a 26" LCD TV as well. I used a 125 pound rated TV mount to hold up my 20 pound TV, because it is over the drivers seat! I also used 1/2" plywood and hinges to fold it down, and then I have a huge new storage compartment too.

Thank you for posting your photos of the TV change over. I am getting ready to do both of my TV's in the MH and your photos gave me a couple of ideas. I liked the idea of the nylon bolts in the back of the TV for adjusting the depth the TV will sit int he cabinet. Did you use anything for securing the TV during travel?

brobox,
I use nylon straps on each side to hold the tv in place. Got the strap and clips like on fanny pouches at the Ace Hardware store. The mount will hold a 80# tv and mine is only a little over 20#. Most of the mounts were well over $100 but found this one at WalMart.com for around $70 with shipping and you can get it for less if you have it shipped to a Wal Mart near you.

I did much the same in our unit.
I took out the bracket and such for the 26" and the 19" in the bedroom. I bought and installed a 20" and 32" LCD. I put another storage area in where the 26" was in the middle front of the unit. We will put the 32" where ever we feel like to watch it. Maybe even outdoors on occasion. Much more flexible in our larger 38' unit than the old viewing area was for sure.
The 20" I put on a swivel bracket and converted the old TV area into storage too.
Total weight saved was almost 100# total after the replacement and I have bigger sets with much better pix that I don't have to worry about converter boxes this coming Feb.
Going full time soon so this will be nice. So many things to get ready yet to go.

Lonnie,
Thanks for the pictures. What size was your old TV? My "built in" now is only a 19" and I would like to replace it with a larger one. However, my set up is the same as yours and the cabinet opening is only about 19 1/2". If I attempt to put in a larger one, it will interfere with the two doors on the cabinets on either side. Anyone have any ideas?

Doody,
I don't know what size the TV is but the opening was just under 27" so a 26" HD LCD fit just right.
