I have always been amazed at the choice of the best campground for several years in your yearly awards. I stayed in America's Best Campground, Branson,MO once, and I mean once ,

Sites: you could spit on your neighbors Rv they were parked so close and we only had a 30ft fifth wheel then I wouldn't even dream of taking my 36ft motorhome over there now.

Road thru the park was tight there was a post at a turn you had to make that was barely passible.

Swimming pool? more like a childrens wading pool.

We stayed four nights no one really spoke to us in the park except in the laundry which happens everywhere.

Alternative may I suggest: Ozark Country RV Campground, Branson, Mo
large sites, large pool, you can receive your mail, and ups deliveries. Very friendly owners who also do all the work, and I mean impeccable groundskeeping. Free Wifi and Cable, included in the price and a great monthly rate.

Did I mention at America's Best Campground I never could get enough signal to use the wifi and had to use my cellphone anyway. That happens in alot of campgrounds across this country.

HI,

I had a basically free site at a Coast to Coast RV park in Branson, but then found the campground on the banks of the lake, and moved there. I was happier to spend a little more money to camp on the lake. It was a little farther into town, but I had a tow car with me, so that did not matter much.

Stayed at ABC in the fall of 2006. Not impressed. We have a 24 ft 5ver and the end of the row site assigned to us was to small for the 41 ft overall length of our rig.

I second Ozark Country Park as being a great place to stay. We stayed there last year and enjoyed it. We stayed at the PA rate, which made it a great deal.

Although I make several trips to Branson I have never stayed at ABC. I drove through there to check it out but usually end up at Branson Lakeside or Outdoor Resorts.

I'm not familiar with Ozark Country RV. Where is it and do they have a web site?

We are at the WatersEdge Campground on Tablerock Lake in Kimberling city this weekend. Very nice park and friendly people. About 15 miles from Branson, maybe 10 miles from Silver Dollar City. Would Highly recommend. The only problem is the lake is pretty high right now.

I couldn't agree more. We have been camping in Branson for over 20 years, and ABC is the last place I would stay. I also don't know how they won "campground of the year". LOL.

ABC is not a campground. There are few trees and they don't allow campfires. It is an RV park......plain and simple. It is full of huge motorhomes where people rarely step outside. Most of those who stay there aren't looking for a campground experience. They are looking for a place to park their MH while they visit the Branson area.

Perhaps the problem is some people do not know the difference between a rv park and a rv campground.

On edit,Anna Banana knows

2008 AWARD WINNER - SIXTH YEAR RUNNING!

America's Best Campground was again the recipient of the Good Sam Welcome Mat Award for 2008! ABC has won this award every year since 2003; the first year it was given. The Good Sam Club membership (about a million members) through Trailer Life/Affinity Group, vote on their favorites each year. We were voted the "Most RV-Friendly Good Sam Park" in the U.S. and Canada! ABC is extremely honored to again be chosen as the "favorite" campground for the Good Sam Members.

Wonder what they had to pay for it?

THEY EARNED IT !!!!!!!!
