I am going to go on a 2 week trip where I will not have a sewer hookup. I have a tote-n-stor but my clean out is lower than the height of the tote-n-stor. I don't know what Rockwood was thinking. Ugh.

Anyway, how do I get the waste out when I have to go uphill without having to purchase any expensive flojet? I am getting ready to invent something because I am sure I am not the only one that has had this issue.

Thanks,

P

Not sure I get the picture here.. how do you dump? Your dump pipe connection is THAT low to the ground?

I have the same problem on my coachmen. I just hook the hose up to the blue tank(don't have a tote-n-stor) and pull the valve. The tanks on the rv are higher than the blue tank and will drain into it. When the flow stops just lift the hose a few times until it all drains into the portable. It's a 'pain' but whachyagonnado? I feel your pain, mine is lower than the top of my 30 gallon blue tote also.
If staying long enough to need to empty grey water, I put equal amounts of leveling blocks under each wheel to raise the entire TT 4 - 6 inches. Most of the times this works just fine, just remember to check before unhooking.
Good luck

Once you use the Flojet and pump it up to the tote IN your truck, it becomes not so expensive.

Got mine on Ebay. Just kept bidding low until I got one.

You could also look at purchasing a "Sewer Solution." You can find them on eBay as well and they're much cheaper (less than a $100) than a Flojet. Just a thought. They do a great job pumping up an incline.

fine if you are pumping into a sewer but not if you are pumping into a blue tank since you are adding water.

making one isn't all that hard... one guy in the CG here has a blue barrel, that he has added some fittings to... it lays down on it side and has wheels like a normal tote... in the end he has a gravity drain valve for emptying at the dump station on the bottom... on the top of the end he has a fitting to connect the hose from the trailer to... and on the very top he has another fitting that has a cap on it... after hooking up the hose from the trailer and pulling the dump valve he removes the cap, and hooks up a 6 hp sears shop vac to it... it will empty a 40 gal tank in just a couple minuets...
a little cumbersome to take on the road but for a seasonal none sewered site it works great...

he then pulls it to the dump station with his golfcart and gravity flows it to empty...
