This is what the laws says.
55 MPH for vehicles weighing >8,000 lbs. empty weight and noncommercial busses on interstate and State freeways '4511.21(B)(10)
They are trying to get it changed. We called the local Patrol Post, a year ago and they said it applies to motorhomes.

And if it's like most states you get a 10mph allowance over the posted limit before they'll bother to write a ticket. 10.1 and they'll pull you. Unless of course, they're in a bad mood and then you never know what they'll do.
In GA school zones and historic districts (good luck identifying those) have a zero allowance, anywhere else is 10mph. Unless you're around Atlanta at rush hour and then you can go at least 100 in a 55, bumper to bumper, without getting pulled over. If you try that on the same road at midnight with no other traffic for a mile around they'll write you for 66.
Yeah, we know it's all about "safety" and revenue generation has nothing to do with it. We know that because that's what our government tells us.

I am from the Buckeye State and it is 55 mph for RV's. I run a little faster than the trucks, about 62 -64 and have had no trouble ever.

Well, WGLASSJR, how fast do you think you should be allowed to go on a 55 MPH road? A ticket for 12 MPH over the limit doesn't seem unreasonable to me, they most likely wouldn't have bothered you at 60.
Happy RV'ing!!

Thanks for your responses. I drove for the last 1.5 hours at 60-62 - splitting the difference.
Most truckers seem to be doing 60-62.

Rule of thumb in OH is 5 over. Lived there for 23 years. They also like to bring out the drug dogs on every vehicle they pull over.

I think if you are not a commercial bus, it is 55. It is a little confusing.
