GI Joe's has 6V Trojan T-105 for $120 each and they claim they are rated at 130 amp hours.
Thanks

$120 Damn! I bought mine just 5 years ago for $64 each. Still going strong. And btw, the T105 is rated at 225 Ah at the 20 hour rate. I have 4 of these, hooked up in series I've got 450 Amp hours to play with.

And in case your wondering they weigh 62 lbs each.

Yep $120. The only other place to buy Trojans around here is Battery X-Change and they want $139.

You're right - they are 225Ah - I just went to their web page. I'm not an expert in DC power but I though you add the voltage but not the amp hours when wired in series. And in Parallel you add the Ah but not the voltage.

For an example:
2-12v 115Ah batteries in parallel = 12v, 230Ah
2-6v 225Ah batteries in series = 12v, 225Ah

Thanks for all the help.

DB everyone one has been looking for you for years and to think your right here on RV net. Big suprise when they thought they found your old parachute but nope it was not it. Glad your doing ok these days, I guess the money ran out already and you need to save like the rest of us.. : ) Anyway I just bought the Energizers from SAMs club for about $62 a peice and my golf cart runs just fine with them maybe they wont last as many years as the others but at the cost savings they work for me and with your Airplane money running low you might want to try them. As a side note my DJ friend would sign off every show by saying "good night D.B. Cooper were ever your are".. I can now let him know where you are.
Good luck.

Before giving up on your current batteries, have you run a desulfate and equalize mode charge on them?

When I first read the headline, "Who uses Trojans?" I thought you were talking about another product. Is my face red?????

Trojans have a good rep among us seasoned RVers.....their exclusive Alpha Paste(TM) helps provide long-lasting, true deep-cycle performance, and adds greatly to our recreational experiences and adventures. As a result of their long life, and my infrequent need for replacement, I always obscure the bar code/UPC.....love to hear that "...price check on those big, bad Trojans, please!"

Thanks for all the help. Now I just need to shop around and find something on sale.

I won't respond to the replies by people whose minds are in the gutter because my wife has cured me of me evil, dirty joke tellin ways. And to those people who said things like "2x" and "magnum", we all know the truth. It's nothing to be ashamed of.

you are correct on the amp hours and voltage. mckenziek had 4 6v batts, both pairs are in series, then you wire the pairs in parallel.
we've had ours for 2 years, and with the furnace blower keeping the bride and kids warm in the desert winter, the batts would read green in the morning. it is one of the best investments we've made for our toyhauler.
