Okay, the water input to my toliet in my '06 Surveyor SV291 leaks. Leaks a good deal when water is first applied to the trailer. I do have a regulator on the water line. Its leaking somewhere around the fitting at the toliet. The problem is I don't have enough room to get my hand back there and really torque on the fitting. I think I'm going to have to pull the toliet out to be able to work on the durn thing.

Any suggestions? If I pull the toliet, do I need a seal when putting it back? Anything particular I should look for?

Also, I'm not sure if its under warranty, but the place I bought the trailer from is out of business and the next service place is to far a drive, especially for an issue like this. So I'm going to have to work on it?

Local hardware store should sell the type of wrench thats used for sinks and toilets....its a 12" shaft with a alligator/pipe wrench end. Its mainly used by plummers.

The wrench that Rumtan is talking about is called a basin wrench. You can get them at any hardware store.

okay, but I have to take the toliet off in order to get to the fitting. Any insight on that? There's two bolts at the base so its probably like removing a home toliet. I'm just wondering if I need a seal or something when I go to put it back on.

There is a rubber seal between the toilet and piping so unless you tear it up it should go back without any issues. As yucky as it is I'd clean it good before re-installing it. To insure success and no downtime I'd buy one and just replace it.

yea, that won't work on the toliet. The toliet fitting doesn't go down, its 90 degrees out. THe toliet is up against a wall so there's not much room to get a hand, let alone a tool, in there.

I'll double check again tonight just to make sure, but I don't think that will work.

It is probably the ball valve if it is a Thetford. The replacement valve comes with a new base flange gasket.
