Andy came through the surgery just fine they kept him overnight. They ended up taking out 23 teeth. I had tried having something done with his teeth earlier but neither K-State or my vet wanted to tackle it because of the high risk. It came to a point where the quality of life took president over not taking a chance. Andy is doing well and probably feeling a lot better. Thanks for all the thoughts an prayers.

Does that leave him with any teeth? I had a poodle that when she died he had four teeth but the option along the way to leave her teeth alone was too risky, he he had a heart murmur, her heart was weak so she would build fluid up from congestive heart failure, she was on one heart pill and lasix, she died at 17.
Leaving bad teeth in can cause even more life threatening disease, I'll be Andy will be feeling much better, good for him!!!

Glad Andy made it through the surgery all right and hope he is feeling better. Champ has lost about 6 teeth so far, but I think he will keep the rest of them. We'll continue to keep Andy in our thoughts and prayers.

YAY for Andy! So glad he came out OK. As for the teeth, of course quality of life matters, and if this was the solution, then so be it! Dogs always think the soft foods are more fun, anyway!
