I have a new Lance 1131 and just now getting around to getting it working... My first atempt failed...I have it at the dealer to check out the cable connections...Assuming it's ok what are the tricks you guys use to get it setup at the camp site? I have the Winegard RV Digital Satellite System with RS-1000 Antenna. Model RM-DM61 and Directv with Jensen DCTV. Should I have gotten the automatic in motion Sat Dish?
Thanks in advance,
Randy T.

I have the RM-DM46 model. The only issue I had was getting the LNB cable from the elevation sensor hidden away nicely.
Is it possible that you having a dish pointing issue? in that case try this link DISH POINTER

RT,
Mine works great. I bring the electronics from home (Direct TV receiver). I just use a compass and the built in elevation sensor. Never had a problem.
Good luck and good camping.

Ditto to what RenoAl says, but with the Jensen TV you need to change the input to (I think) AV2. I have to fool with the input button everytime, cuz we don't always use the DirectTV box due to trees.

1. Release the tiedowns and level the TC as much as possible. I use the little bubble levels from Walmart RV Dept.
2. Use hand held compass to get the relative bearing from north (which way your TC is heading)Then adjust the compass ring on the wineguard to the magnetic north heading. Arrow parallel with TC sides then adjust arrow to the north heading. the compass with the plastic plate is easy to use. 3. With the zip code for your camp spot follow the directions to get heading and altitude to aim the dish. (be patient and adjust slowly) be sure to use the signal strengh meter to zero in. With a few trys you'll be able to get it in just a few minutes. I find that the more level the TC, the easier it is to find the satellite signal.
Be sure to figure out the paths of the over the air antenna signal and the satillite antenna path usually found on the tv/video button on the TV remote. If you have over the air antenna you will prolly have a little button on the wall plate to turn on a booster , a little light appears when the booster is on. Be sure to turn off the over the air booster when using the satellite.

Assuming you have the satellite logo, etc. on the tv screen thus showing that the satellite is hooked up and working (sorry if this is too simple, but I have learned some folks don't know this is necessary) you need to go through the setup steps explained in your manual, and may want satellite provider to guide you on this by phone. If no logo, then it's not working and you must find out why.
It takes me about 3 minutes to get set up and watching TV, assuming I'm not blocked by foliage.
Booster, by the way, does not work with satellite TV and should be off.
