My 06' Jayco Seneca motorhome has a Norcold refrigerator, not sure of the model number, and I have a question. During last weekends campout my Norcold began a display cycle that is not in my owners manual fault code index. The unit has a small bar light that displays next to the mode selected, Auto, AC, LP Gas. To date I have only had the mode set to Auto, but this weekend the display would continuously change from Auto to AC and then LP over and over again. When the temp set button was pressed the display would cycle from 1 up to 9 and then start over again. The unit was cold when we started the weekend (left on since prior trip two weeks ago) and remained cold the entire trip.
Any ideas? The manual has no indication of a fault code displayed in such a manor.

I have read both the owners manual and the service manual and there is no indication what the possible fault could be when the display cycles from Auto to AC to LP repeatedly. Anyone else?

The inside control is called the Optical Board. That is probably the fault. 06, you may be under Norcolds warranty. Get it in to a Norcold Service center. Doug

Try turning refer off (and everything else), no shore power, and cycle the coach batteries to off, wait ten seconds and then back to on. Turn refer on and see if it resets. mine started acting crasy last weekend and this cleared it up... been working fine.

Doug is right on this. Your problem is in the optical control. Actually it is the overlay used but to fix the problem you will have to replace the assembly as that is the only way it is offered. Norcold is aware of the problem so I'm sure they will work with you ..or at least an authorized service shop that is. Take it to a repair shop.

Well, after attempting to use the service manual to diagnose my fault problem and still not being able to enter the mode required to do so, it looked as though the problem could be that the mode select button may be stuck. The solution found was, as my buddy who works at the power plant calls it, to perform an operator adjustment to the button. So I preceded to firmly smack the button with my knuckle.
The fridge now appears to be working properly. I will still note the malfunction on my to do list when I put the coach in for service.
I am not sure if the problem was, as the last couple of posters indicated, an optical control overlay causing my problem or if I even performed my operator adjustment to the overlay but it sounds like it may be.
