After market alarm system. You probably did not get the remote for the alarm system from the previous owner. Look under the hood for a siren or some other sound device.

Was this a new vehicle to you? Sounds like it might be a dealer "lot" alarm. Where exactly is this located at and I'll look at our '06 CRV.

BTW- Nowhere in the '06 book does it say to pull any fuses. What it does say is to start and cycle the trans to keep the fluid from draining completely out. Those intervals should be enough to keep from killing the battery completely. I installed a Trik-L-Start mostly because I needed a project. It really wasn't needed.

Jeff, Under the dash, toward the left of center, remove the panel and it is wired in on the left of the access area you just opened. I am going to do some more research today.

Pulling the fuse for 07 and later with the NAV option only. With the key on, the GPS stays on and drains the bat. the fuse is for the GPS. Easier to add an in line on/off toggle sw. Learned this last night on this forum.

Update: When we bought the CRV the dealer gave us a remote that did not work and they didn't know what it was for, but came with the car when they got it. Called the 800 number on the back of the remote and that gave me a local store that installs these things. They said to bring it in but is probably an alarm. Under the hood--found two wires that are hanging loose. Apparently something had been removed. My guess: the horn for the alarm.

More next week when I get to the installer.

Does your CRV presently have remote keyless entry? If it does this is an aftermarket programming module for the system. If you lose the keypad that you have (if you have one) this is what you use to program the new transmitter (keypad) to the receiver in the car.
