When I set up my Dish Network I get good signal on both 110 and 119,(over 100 each). I run check switch and get a error message under status (can't read it). It shows odd for 110 and 119. I can get the odd channels only. My question is what switches the odd and even channels? I get 12volts at the input to the sw21. Is this voltage suppose to change when it goes odd to even? Could that switch that looks like a spitter be bad.
Thanks for any help.

I have the same problem with my In-Motion Sat Dome. When at a stand-still, it works fine. But when in motion, it can only track one sat. I understand that Direct TV works better because it only tracks one sat.

I ran into the same thing a few weeks ago, check switch failed and kept getting no reception, my cable must have had a bad spot, replaced cable from switch to receiver and all good, I determined the issue was with the cable as I could jiggle it and signal strength would climb. The SW21's can and do go bad, new one around 28.00.

I've had the same problem, and like Chrisatthebeach, it was the cable, not the switch.

There are two or three things.. Dish has several antennas 300, 500, 1000, 500+ Dish Plus and all are different in one way or another however there are basically two different ways to switch odd/even
Normally each frequency used has two transponders, One is using what is called "left hand polarization" and the other "Right Hand Polarization" These are radio terms, but if you know about screws or rather nuts and bolts, then you know you can't screw a left hand bolt into a right hand nut, and the other way around. The LNB has two antennas in it. (Not to be confused with two LNB's)
one is left hand, one is right hand.
Some of the older DISH-300 and the solo LNB Direc antennas use high/low voltage to choose odd or even IIRC it's 18 or 13 volts approximate
Dish, on most of it's antennas (The 300 may be an exception) uses Frequency "Stacking" That is it translates the ODD transponders into one frequency range, and the "Even" into a different frequency band
So, what would cause loss of odd, or even transponders?
I will take it in physical order starting with the Antenna (DISH)
The LNB may have blown a translator and may not be able to translate either the low or high band of the two frequency bands it translates into.
Then if there is anything in the cable other than a ground block, or a pass-through connector. (or other "Transparent" device) such as an active switch, or splitter.
Now we get to the receiver itself.. It too has two different converters in it and one of them can be fried.
Also the high/low voltage regulator in the receiver or the detector in the antenna can cause issues
(Dish uses high/low voltage to choose satellite by the way)
Sometimes re-setting the receiver and/or re-running CHECK SWITCH will fix it
Sometimes re-doing the connections fixes it.
Good luck in any case

I have had good results resolving issues with my Dish system by merely unplugging the receiver for 2-3 minutes.

SW21 and SW42 ARE NOT external switches. They are internal in the Dish receiver. If you do NOT get ODD/EVEN on the display when in Check Switch mode, that means the system is NOT pinging ODD/EVEN. If it shows ODD only, that means it is NOT pinging EVEN, just ODD. The coax from the receiver (TO Sat /(RV system) ) should NOT have and cannot have any splitter between the Sat receiver and the DISH LNB. There are Dish Network splitters between the Sat receiver and the Dish LNB, but they are used for multiple receivers or DVR's. Try making sure there is only the single coax from the Sat receiver to the LNB and then do your check switch. If the system functions OK, then the splitter was your problem.

I'm gonna chime in here with a question. I'm getting all the stuff together to have dish network in the TT. I have the dish 500 dish and a dual LNB DP plus. There are two connections on 119 (1 and 2) and one connection on the 110 side. I know I only use a single coax, but which spot do I plug into on the LNB?
