I have an '06 Ford F250 6.0L Diesel with a 6" lift & 35's. My wife & I have found an '08 Fuzion 393 that we love. I have read a few forums about using 1 Tons to pull this TH, however alot of people are telling me that my rig will do it fine.... Has anyone had experience pulling the TH with a 3/4 ton & a lift?
I don't have a lift on my truck and it is a '05 Chevy 2500HD and I pull our Fuzion 362 without any problems. I have pulled our Fuzion 4 times with no toys in the garage and 3 times with toys.

No, a lift raises the center of gravity and decreases "safe" towing weights.
I have a 393 and a dually F-450. I would not tow a 393 for any distance/duration with anything less than a 1 ton dually.
Pulling it with your truck, no problem. Stopping it in ideal situations, no problem. But when some idiot cuts you off or you have a blow-out on an off-grade exit ramp, well, here's where I think you could have problems.

I agree with 08f450psd. I had a perfectly good 2007 Dodge 2500 with the Cummins that I felt would do the job just fine. My max tow weight on the dodge for fifth wheel was in the neighborhood of 12,700 pounds. I just did not feel comfortable towing that much weight with that truck, so prior to ever buying the Fuzion, I opted to trade for a 2008 F450 with 4.88 gears and a tow capacity of 24,000 pounds. We did not want to be limited on what we could tow or take with us. As previously stated, the truck would probably pull and stop just fine in normal circumstances, however, if an accident ever occurred, the tag in your door jamb will become the best friend of the person you hit.

I'm pulling a Fuzion 362 with an F-350 SRW CC Short Box. It pulls fine, handles OK on the interstate, but I have to agree that the stopping and emergency situations worry me. I've had to make one quick stop with this rig and I was surprised how long the stopping distance is with that much weight. Luckily it was a straight stop, no evasive turns or lane change required. The trailer brakes worked perfectly and I got the rig stopped in time. I was never in an out-of-control condition, but I sure felt I was pushing the limit. I will be upgrading to an MDT this year. I have my eyes set on a Freightliner P2 Low Bed.
I have the Raptor 3814 and based on 6000 miles of pulling experience with this TH I would not pull it with anything less than my 08 350 DRW. As I have said in other posts, if I could justify the F450 or afford an MDT, I would. I am very comfortable with my F350 but sometimes more is good. You will be severely underrated for the weight you are going to pull and I think you will be driving a little white knuckled. Often, when these questions are posted, those people who buy the properly rated truck for this application are knocked for trying to justify the expense of an F450, F350 etc... size truck over pulling it with something that "can" pull it versus should. Trust me, I did alot of research and I bought my truck because it is the right truck for the weight I am pulling.
Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

The bigger tires on your truck hurt the towing performance. You have essentially changed your gear ratio and changed it the wrong way.
Technically, you will be over the tow ratings of your truck with that much trailer.
Do people tow big trailers with your truck? All the time.
Will the truck tow that trailer? Yes
Will you be within the tow ratings given by Furd? No

So I stayed up till almost 1 AM last night doing the math myself, after educating myself on all of the Abreviations on the tow ratings/weights etc. It appears that EVERYONE is in agreement that the Fuzion 393 is too much trailer for my truck. The math shows that my truck will pull it with in regulations with 195 lbs that I could pack in it - My wife's clothes will wiegh more than that! SOOOO I did the math on the 362 and it shows abot 2000lbs that I could load into it and stay under the GCVWR. Either way it still looks like it is suggested that the TH be wieghed before purchase so that you can be certain the tag spec's match the actual weight..... am I rambling here...yes. What about adding airbags? Does this help with the pin weight? I appreciate all the input.
Let me see a Fuzion 393 weighs 13 K empty, add water, gas, toys, clothes, tools and all the other stuff you'll wanna to carry you should top out at around 15.5 K which makes you over weight per Ford's (250/350) SRW, SUPER CAB 4X4 IS RATED AT 15 K FOR A 5TH WHEEL. Your bigger tires makes you loose about 15% of your Torque and unless you have a 4:88:1 axle ratio to make up for that loss the hills are out for you. I don't know how a truck that lifed and tired can hook-up a 5er without hit the bed all the time??? Flat bed maybe?? If you daired run it with the trailer jacked-up in the front the first really hard stop you make should/could make you the late/great sump'n.
