Can anyone recommend some good campgrounds around Front Royal/Luray Virginia? Besides the expensive Jellystone!

Oh, and I thought I could help you!! We took a trip to Luray 2 summers ago, but stayed at Jellystone
Anyway, loved it (it is a bit pricey, but we didn't mind for the amenities and location). Good luck! BTW--definitely check out the Luray Caverns while your there...our kids STILL talk about how amazing it was! Have fun!

There are several around other than Jellystone (which is great for kids but pricey and busy). Country Waye is nice and quieter. There is a small CG in Edinburg, I believe it is called Creekside that gets good reviews, there is a KOA in Front Royal, there is a KOA south of New Market (typical KOA) and there is a CG at Endless Caverns. There are also several CG on the Skyline Drive although they don't have FH. Check www.rvparkreviews.com and see if something appeals to you. This is a great part of the country...hope you enjoy your trip.

We stayed at Creekside Campground. It's a nice little park which is close to the Wal-Mart & Cracker Barrel in Woodstock. Emphasis is on the "little." Definitely not a big rig destination.

Country Waye would be our first and only choice in Luray.
