We currently have a Rockwood 2701SS and are looking to move up to a 8313SS. We love our current model, just feel we have out grown it. I would like to hear from those of you who own the 8313SS with your concerns and comments. We have had no complaints with manufacturing with our 2701 and would hope the same would hold true with the 8313. My local dealer has one on the lot, just right! I have walked through it several times and it feels good. Pros and Cons are welcome to help us in making an informed decision.

PS - We did find a new (new to us, 2004 Silverado 2500) tow vehicle, for those of you who assisted in that matter.

Thanks again,
Roland

The only problem that we have had with our Rockwood 8318SS is a water pump that went out under warranty. Other than that, no problems...

We have a 2008 8313SS. We got it last summer and have used it quite a lot. We are enjoying the two couch's. Lots of storage so no complaints there. We have two kids...DD sleeps on the bunk and DS sleeps on the fold out air mattress on the back sofa. We don't find it a pain to put it up and down each night. We leave the sheets on it and just throw a blanket on top. We got the 15,000 BTU air so had no issues with cooling. Camped this winter and didn't have heat issues. TT stayed warm with just the furnace running. The heated tanks came in very handy.

The only issues:
Concertone the unit DVD went bad and the monitor went bad. Both were replaced and (knock on wood) no furhter problems with it.
Both GFI outlets went back and DH replaced.

The only thing I would change now that I have it is we ordered the bench table (I thought I would need the storage) and now I wished I had ordered the table and chairs. Our kids are getting older and it is cramped if we try and all sit at the table on the benches. So DH is going to look this weekend and see about removing the benches.

We are enjoying the camper and feel it is a quality unit and would recommend it!!

Wow!, we have a 2008 8314SS and have had the EXACT experience!
First TV monitor went bad.... it was replaced under warranty with a different brand, we have replaced both GFI receps..., and now our Concertone DVD player is messed up.
But all in all it has been a very nice trailer, we had a Forest River Surveyor and now we have the Rockwood and really feel the overall quality is good.

We have the 8317SS, we were going to buy a 8313 until we actually were in the 8317. The reason that we went for the 8317 is that we have a two year old daughter now with plans for a sibling in the future. With young kids I think that the quad bunks are nice. Once she gets older I think we will want something more like the 8313

So long story short, get the 8313 since your kids are older

Update....

We did it, finally. Decided it was one of those 'now or never' kind of things. The kids will be able to have a friend go with them too. Scheduled to be picked up on Saturday, but I saw that it was ready yesterday, so.....going to try and get it today.
Thank you all for you input.

We were in both the 8313 and 8318 yesterday. We like everything about the 8313 except the couch for the bed. We do not like the layout of the 8318 with the bunk. So the dealer is going to look at adding a bunk to the 8313 for us.

Wife said that is what it will take for us to upgrade!! LOL

Very happy with dealer, so I know he will work it out for us..
