Our city hands out biodegradable poop bags in parks. Some irresponsible owner would use them and fling them into bushes in the neighbourhood. You can see them hanging onto the branches thru the winter seasons and remain intact. But I heard reports that if you leave these bags in your coat pocket and forgotten, they will degrade and make a mess.

I would think the smell would get to you long before they had a chance to degrade. Can you imagine opening that closet door!!

I don't think anybody would keep loaded ones in the coat pocket.
Melted plastic is messy enough.

Keep track of how long you've had them....I had a batch of biodegradable bags start to break down before I got around to using the whole box. Unpleasant surprise to be traveling with the dogs, heading out the door for a 2 am walk, and have your hand go right through the ribbons and shreds of the bags!

We use Dogipot bio-degradable poop bags. 10 rolls of 200 each for $74.00 plus tax and shipping = $87.81, that's about 4.4 cents a bag.

Dogipot Bags

On Edit: We've had our bags for over 2 years and there's been no break down in the bags.
