In early September we'll be traveling from Cody, WY to the Little Bighorn, MT. Streets and Trips routes us around through Billings and shows a red line across some of Hwy 14A. Years ago I travel along some of that road to get to the Medicine Wheel in the Bighorn NF and it was beautiful.

We travel in a Roadtrek 210, which is a 22ft Class B unit. Does anyone know Hwy 14? If so would it be okay for a class B?

if you've driven 14A, you know it is a very tough climb up the side of a very high cliff... with grades of 10 to 14%.
14 does the same climb but over a longer stretch of the road, so the grades aren't quite as steep.
it is also very pretty.

If your brakes are good and you take it slow & easy, I'd say you may be ok. Experience there will help!

We drove a small Class C (Chinook) over 14 once, and I said I'd never do it again. It had a good-sized V8 engine (Dodge van chassis) but the engine temp was pretty high going up, and the brakes soon smelled like hot rubber on the way down. We had to stop several times to let things cool down.

14 is the easier route. Make sure you stop at the rest area in Shell Falls and take the very short walk to the waterfall.

Thanks for your help. I think we'll take Hwy 14 instead of Hwy 14A. 14 is also listed as a scenic route and Shell Falls sounds good.

Stop in at the Bear Lodge at the corner of 14 and 14A and say Hi to my bother. By the way, they have a full hookup campground too.

We've taken HWY14 across the big horn mtns twice in a 24'C, and wouldn't hesitate to do so again.

Stayed at Tie Flume campground in the Bighorn National forest. Nice creek running though a meadow, plenty of rock outcroppings to climb. It's open until September 21st.

(sounds like we're sorta neighbors too)

I have taken 14 2 times in my Foretravels and had no issues and love the views. Be careful though as it is across free range. But it is beautiful.
