Do you mean inexpensive or cheaply built or not much value for the dollar?

I own a 2006 Bronco popup 1200...I did a lot of checking with different manufacturers, and the Palomino was certainly far less expensive. However, there is definitely a quality difference between the Palomino Bronco and (for example) the Outfitter Brand...BUT, for what I need it for, it was worth it for me going with the Palomino. I have had no problems with my camper, but I definitely notice some lesser quality things about it.

I own a 2008 Maverick and I found it to a great value for the money. With TC's being at the lower end of the RV spectrum, they occupy not only a different immage, but appeal to a smaller market. I bought mine because of the original price and what I thought the resale market would be. The Palomino brands are, IMHO, supported by the many other brands that Forest River makes. Its like how GM sell the Cobalt at its price point. The higher priced products help support the lower ones. As for quality, I can not be happier with my unit. I am impressed with the exterior construction. Yes, there are areas where the lower price can be seen. But if you except these differences, all is good. It does what I bought it for. Most of the volume TC makers (Lance etc)are pretty much making just TCs. They have to cover their cost from a lower volume, and they are made with higher grade cabinets, fiberglass components and design. It all goes back to what you want to pay and what ammenities you need.

Either one, or both. Whatever knowledge or experience anyone has.

I own a 1251 and am very satisfied with it. I drive a Ford truck, DW a Honda CRV. I don't think of myself as cheap, just finacially responsible! The Palomino seems to be a good unit. It is not constructed of the finest materials money can buy but I think they are reasonable in quaility. I like to think they have the most bang for a buck, just like our Ford and Honda. JMHO.

We have had the 1000SL for 2 years now and have had no complaints whatsoever. That said, we shopped a lot and as said earlier, the exterior construction and quality stood out well. Also, remember, the "guts", ie, pumps, fridge, A/C, tanks, fixtures, posts, jacks, glass, vents, even plumbing and electrical are basically the same in every mfg's unit. Yes, the interior "fit, finish, and material" leaves a little to be disired, but with the enormous cost difference, IMHO, it's a lot more bang for the buck. Now if I had rug rats or animals occupying and roughing up the same space, it might be a different story, but for what we use it for, it's been great! For it's size, it's light enough for the 2500HD and we still pull the Harley's behind us. Bottom line, unless you're doing some serious boon docking (twisting) or full timing with furry things, I think it's a "best value" for your TC needs... again IMHO...

Thanks all for the comments. But why the comment about 'twisting'? Do you have reason to believe it wouldn't hold up to that?

Sorry, didn't mean to mislead you.... guess that was sort of my disclaimer and probably applies to any TC. I've seen some guys try going some places they really shouldn't have and they've done some serious damage to walls and roofs through abrupt changes in direction and abrupt changes in vehicle attitude and speed. That's all that meant and I really wasn't challenging the stuctural integrity of the Palomino or any other TC under NORMAL use. Sorry if I mislead ya.... JOHN
