We are considering selling our current fifth wheel (2002 Cougar 276) and buying something a little larger and a little nicer. Not looking for a top of the line so Everest and the like are not being considered. Looking at something in the $30-35K range. I briefly looked at a Outback Sydney edition a couple weeks ago and liked the white cabinets and brighter interior. Also looked at a nice Jayco although I don't recall the model. Any brands yall recommend I look at before pulling the trigger. Probably won't do it til after summer '09 (We're doing the Dave Ramsey plan and getting all debt paid off before buying a new TV and 5er.) Thanks in advance,Ed

Hi! Just wanted to let you know that we got the Sydney Outback last year and really are enjoying it. No, it is not top of the line but we could not afford them. We also loved the light interior cabinents and the roominess of our floor plan. And DH loves to use the outdoor kitchen. We do not have the bedroom slide but they do offer it now. DH is 6'3" and can easily stand in the shower and dressing area of the bedroom. Hope you find what is best for you and your family!

2008 Jayco Eagle would be in your price range after the usual price negotiations! Solid oak drawer fronts and cupboard doors, real wood cabinets, lots of standard extra's, great quality and 2 year warranty. We've had 7 Jaycos, and loved 'em all!

2nd for the Jayco Eagle. We purchased our 08' last summer and totally LOVE it. We had the standard little warranty problems, but overall quality has been great!!! I smile ear to ear while towing down the road and while at the campsite. Good luck!!!!

I too would also go for the Eagle. We looked at those, but took the dive on the the bigger Jayco.

I am FAR from an expert on this subject, but I did a bit of shopping over the last couple of months and found these brands to be nice:
Heartland Sundance
Keystone Cougar
Jayco Eagle (Eagle Light was a bit too light in construction for me)
KZ Sportsmen with aluminum frame and fiberglass option
Pacific Coachworks Tango
Croassroads Cruiser
Jayco and KZ seem to be highly regarded, but I didn't find the floorplan and specs, or price I liked. The Forest River products I looked at didn't float my boat. There wasn't a Cruiser dealer near me so I wasn't able to check one out in person, but I hear good things about them. The Tango was nice, but I didn't like the decor. I almost bought a Cougar 276RLS as it's a great bang for the buck coach with a floorplan and size I like. In the end I picked the Sundance as it is very well made with a strong company focus on the customer. It also just spoke more loudly to my wife and I!
Every brand has it's admirers and detractors. I'm not sure you can go wrong with any brand. Jayco Eagle owners do seem like an especially proud bunch, though!

I have had two Pilgrim products. I had a Open Road and now a 2008 Legends. The Open Road was great but a little heavy and the Legends a 35rl3s towed with a chev 2500 diesel has been an excellent choice and a little lighter than the same model in the Open Road.
We are very happy with the Legends and highly recommend it to others.
