Now what are the pros and cons of having a glass door?

We just ordered a Heartland Cyclone with the sliding glass door option, so I know it's available on the Cyclone.

i personally would not want ANY glass anywhere in the living area....if it were a polycarbonate sheet, i would think about it, but too many factors with trailering could lead it to break very easily.

My 2100FK toy hauler MEL is technically an office in disguise. (Mobile Electronics Laboratory) I realize the reason the back door ramps are solid due to weight of toy vehicles, but has anyone tried to remodel the back ramp door with a window, as it gets pretty dark in that rear 48 square feet with the single queen bunk up.
And if someone wanted to load vehicles, they could merely drop a diamond plate over the window while the ramp was down?
Any ideas?

We have a Forest River XLR 37X12. It has the sliding glass door. This is why we bought this trailer and absolutly love it. Any chance we have we leave the ramp down and have great views out the back and a lot of good light. We just got back from camping in the rain. We had a table in the garage and the living room for dinner, 14 people in our rig and it was great.

The Thor Vortex 395 TIB has a glass slider. One thing I like about it is that the garage side is reflective so that you can't see into the living area from the rear with the ramp down.

Think about installing your own. I installed one right in front of the tailgate (I carry the bike on a rack) This gave us an exceptionally nice living room with sliding glass door leading to the patio. If I had wanted to create a garage, I could have installed it further in. If you have tools, time and skill you can do anything, probably better than a factory employee. The comments about glass come from folks who have not checked the facts. A lot of cabin cruisers employ glass doors and that is a lot rougher environment than a trailer.
