I've got it all figured out. My wife and I spent 3 months in the valley last year. So with the added fuel cost this year we will have to spend 4 months. That should make up the difference. Thats not new math, it's Kentucky math. Wont be as long as it has been!!!!! Hi Ho Silver away....

The fuel issue will be with us for some time. There may not be an easy answer; however, my wife and I just returned from Mission Tx. We located an RV lot in Greengate Grove RV Park. We purchased it as a hedge against ever increasing fuel costs. If push comes to shove, we can leave the 5r there and drive the Honda back and forth. We all have too much tied up in our units to have them sitting in a storage building somewhere.

Congrats on your purchase. A very nice park in a good location.
If you bicycle it is near the trail that goes to Mission Nature Park & Bentsen State Park.

Some folks will most likely be investigating the costs of storing their RV onsite or at the campgrounds, vs. the cost of fuel.

It would be interesting to see what is happening at the RV dealerships?
I would love to monitor their sales charts nationwide each month and compare them to past sales.

I just heard on our news this morning that Dan Gamel RV already closed several of his sites in California, and now Mesa RV is closing his California locations, so I think the fuel prices have definately hurt the RV industry, also some of the manufacturers are laying off employees.

We are going to travel 1500-2000 miles less this winter and the fuel will cost me another $500.00 for the car and MH. Prices are slowly dropping and by the time we leave this figure may be lower. We're still going. Not staying home in the cold.

I think the lack of credit to buyers is hurting most dealership"s sales more than the fuel costs. I would think if someone owned their unit outright, the extra cost of fuel would not be as much of a factor. Just my 2 cents.

I know what Exxon/Mobile will be doing. After another record quarter profits of $11.62 BILLION dollars highest ever for a U.S. Company they will be laughing all the way to the bank.
