Bad news.
Same thing happened in San Rafael CA, Nissan dealer. Took the money, car still belonged to Mazda. Lots of people got burned. They not only did not have a new car, but still owed money on the old car loan on a car that was now sold to someone else.... ouch.
Can happen to anyone, cars or otherwise. They should have escrow services for vehicles like real estate.

I hope it all works out. It is horrible when you are so excited about getting your new rv only to find out that you now have to jump through hoops.

Good luck,

They cannot recover funds while they are in possession of the rig...that only works if they have to give up the rig.

if you paid by credit card you have 180 days to protest the sale with your credit card company. You can get your money back if nothing else.

That depends on the law in each state. In our home state, you only have 60 days to dispute a charge on any CC bill.

I wouldn't be too quick to dispute the charge (after all, the OP does have the vehicle, just not a title). Check with the DMV. You have a copy of the title app and proof you paid the title fee. DMV can take care of that for you. Once you have a title, all is well, right? Chill out, relax, and enjoy your purchase. You can only dispute a charge if you didn't make it, or you didn't get what you purchased. Here, it seems like a title is the only fly in the ointment. I'll bet everything comes out OK. Good luck to you!

You have the bill of sale and the title application. To get the title you have to take them to DMV. It sounds like you have just not taken the next step. Go to DMV and file for the title.

Thanks all for the replies. great site with a lot of traffic.

Good news is that another dealer is taking over the business and is really helping out all those that were hurt by this. They helped us file for a lost title and will sign it over once we get the new title.

Crazy how things like this happen.

I did find that there is a duplicate post on Howard Rv Super Center going under.

Thanks again for all the help. Hope to see some of you out at the camp grounds this year.

Mick
