I've crossed into Canada many times but next week will be the first time in the RV, is there anything I should be concerned about? Any special preperations I need to be aware of? Are they going to search the RV or does it pretty much work the same as when in the car?

Thanks!

When crossing into Canada, the regulations are the same no matter what province. Quebec abbreviation is QC, officially.

Take off the sunglasses, be polite, answer what asked. They can't asked everything every time or it would take a minimum of an hour per vehicle.

I cover a lot of things for coming our way in my articles on RVing in Canada, which are also linked in my signature.

While I'm still in process of checking these links, here is one that really needs updating: http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/travel-voyage/visitors-eng.html

We think all of our provinces are beautiful.

& I, I took the road less travelled by.

Thanks little Kopit for the information and links... I'll check them out...
In all the times I've been up there before, I've never had any trouble getting into Canada, but for some reason every time on the way back I get "selected" for additional screening!

Sorry about the mis-spelling! Some times I type faster than I think!

Which highway do you intend to use crossing the border?
I'm asking because I live in Quebec and "base camp" in Vermont, so commuting almost every week-end.

We crossed at the end of I-89 a couple of years ago.

It was the most intense border crossing we've ever had.

They spent two hours searching the RV.

My wife and I were separated and interrogated at length.

They took our passports and drivers licenses and did multiple computer searches.

Of course, in the end, we were free to go after we put the RV back together.

Surprisingly, they didn't even look inside our Saturn - go figure?

I should add that they were polite throughout.
