Yep. Liz drove her GN to work four days this week. I saw a daily-driven 9-second car on last year's Power Tour--it looked like a nice, nearly-stock 3G Firebird with a cowl hood, chrome exhaust tips, & nice wheels...unless you looked closely enough to notice the rollcage, the 5-point belts, or the boost gauge. It was his only car, and ran 3500+ miles (2 days of heavy rain and 3 of 90+ degree heat) without a hiccup.

Might be the way you drive.

Mine got about 24.8 when I 1st got it,

After mods, including cam & heads etc it got up to 28 MPG mark but then it dropped to 27 MPG when I swapped in the 3.06 SRT diff. This is cruising @ or near the 65 MPH speed limit.

Up the cruise to 75 MPH & it drops to 24 MPG.

I would say it all depends on what you like to drive. If your looking for a fast small sporty car, the Mazda speed 3 should fit the bill. A friend purchased one last year, and he and his wife LOVE it. I didn't have the coin to get a Speed3, but my Focus SVT can satisfy my need for speed, at least for now.

Hard to argue against that Focus SVT. Great car.

Not for anyone tall...I don't FIT in a Focus. The interior simply does not allow me any semblance of comfort.

The 2008 Dodge Charger with 6.1 V8 is rated at 13mpg city and 18mpg highway on premium fuel vs the 2008 Corvette with 6.2 V8 at 16mpg city and 26mpg hwy.

Gee, I wonder if the Charger SRT8 spotting the Corvette HALF A TON of weight (to say nothing of the vast differenmce in aerodynamic drag) may have something to do with that?

Yeah, I those were my exact thoughts as well. Not a fair comparison between a car that can seat 5 versus one that only seats 2 and weighs much less.

Neither Jarlaxle or Powerwagon896 are talking about 6.1 liter Hemi cars. They are talking about 5.7 liter Hemi cars rated at 15 city 23 highway, at least according to the revised 2008 EPA method of reporting MPG.
