I actually overheard a woman complaining about the barking dogs at night. Told the ranger that couldn't be coyotes because they didn't sound like the ones on TV.

Our favorite we heard from Ranger at Rocky Mountain National Park. Folks asked what season the deer turned into elk. They though the deer were just baby elk!

Just remember some of these are people that vote and have no idea how dumb they sound to anyone who spends time outdoors. Proud they hiked 3 miles round trip and want to save the world from us gas hogs. Some must have been as a joke but I have known people who would believe this type of talk and think changes should be made.

Maybe they could just install moving sidewalks on all of the trails in all public parks!
Why would anyone jump out of a perfectly good airplane? Because the door was opened!

I want to see nature as it was intended - not left dead on highways. In fact I don't like the way your national parks are laid out - too much highway, not enuf nature.

I don't know what national parks you're talking about but I'm guessing you don't mean west of the Rockies. In most of our western parks I'd guess no more than 10-20% of the area is accessible by car. There are even more wilderness areas in which cars are not allowed at all.

Unfortunately, some of those Biscuit Heads can be extremely annoying. Last year we had the displeasure of having 2 families of them camp next to us at Taquamana Falls (I know I spelled that wrong) in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. They let the kids have slingshots. And let them chase chipmunks with them. Well. They eventually caught one. The smaller children were traumatized by the dying lil critter. Really upset us. Fortunately the left the next morning.

They sound like the same ones who complained that Lake Superior was too cold and insisted someone should do something about that.
