If you use the kind of RV wash that contains wax, will this reduce the friction wear on the seals?
That is what I have been doing, thinking that it might help lengthen the life of the rubber seals around the slide-out. Don't know if it is helping, but due to this I am washing the trailer with the slides out and I haven't had any problems, yet...

Actually I do both. I pull them in so I can clean and wax the area above them and then put them out to clean the sides themselves.

I usually wash it with the slide in since I do it on the street in front of our house. I clean the 2 ends and top about once a year when we're camping. The slide really doesn't get very dirty since it's in most of the time during storage.
