I do both, when we are on the road and I need to clean the fiver I will take it to a truck/RV wash. Can't have the slides out there. When I do it at a RV park, if they will let you, or at home it's with the slides out.

Most of the time I leave mine closed, but every once in awhile I like to open them to wash the slide as well. The sides don't seem to get nearly as dirty as there is no road film that gets on there.

I wash mine with the slide in the out position. If it doesn't get wet inside during a torrential Adirondack rainstorm, my garden hose won't get it wet in there.

I always wash with the slides out, they need to be washed and waxed also. I've never had and water from the hose get inside.

Wash with slide out. Also wash the slide roof at the same time.
