After getting our trailer out to get ready for the season we noticed that the carpet under the dinette and sofa was dripping wet. The windows in the slide were leaking. The leak was so bad that there was pine needles in the wall when they ripped wall covering off. We only camped in unit a handful of times we purchased it in July. 2008 greywolf. In october we had the dealer fix the skylight in the top. When they ripped the roof apart last week they found mold in the ceiling. There was mold started on the osb when they ripped the carpet out of the slide. They are supposed to be sending to factory to replace slide or fix. With mold issues do you think I should worry that we will have issues in future?

Mold can certainly be cleaned up but I would want to know that they truly found it all--and I'm not sure how you will know that. Mold can truly cause health problems. What a bummer. I can't believe a 2008 would have that many leak issues. Guess you will just have to see if they get all the leaks fixed.

I know we bought a new 2007 Trail-Sport that we had all sorts of problems with and finally just bit the bullet and traded it in. Not a good financial solution but we now have a great rig that has had 0 problems. I certainly don't know your financial position but if they don't really get it fixed right and you have more problems, if you are able...you may be thinking about another rig.

You need to demand a new TT. Mold problems are very serious and could lead to death. Has your TT been having troubles like that since you got it?

Sounds like you should have spent another 2k and purchased a name brand trailer. Doesnt pay to buy Generic I guess?

I think a minimum expectation for ANY brand out on the road is that they stay dry. That's assuming that over the years you check the roof to make sure it's still sealed. On a new unit, I know the dealer says to still check the roof, but it sounds like Mike got a TT that was leaking from the moment it was built. I'm with the rest - mold is nothing to mess around with. I'd insist on a new unit.

I'm with Earl (knock on wood), so far I'm very pleased with my Springdale.

First off I would demand a new trailer. That is unacceptable. This thing will probably never get fixed properly.

Second off mold is everywhere, if you want to avoid mold do NOT leave your house. It is in the air and will kill you. You must live in a bubble to survive. (note sarcasm)

This whole mold issue is so over blown it is not even funny. Show me one solid case of where someone has died from mold. Of course there are theories, but I want cold hard indisputable medical facts.

Grey Wolf is not a "generic" trailer, but a Forest River product; it's a sub-line of the Cherokee brand.

I agree that you should insist on a replacement trailer. Mold is too difficult & expensive to fix, and there's too good a chance that they won't be able to find & remove all of it.

Mold is everywhere but when it gets concentrated inside it exacerbates the issue. In the insurance business if carpeting gets wet we just get rig of it and replace it. If a house with the stucco put on in the 90's develops mold under the siding it is usually a total loss. This unit should be DOA by the description. Demand a new unit and get legal help if they balk.
