We've full timing in our Cedar Creek and while we have double pane windows we're finding that a couple of the slideouts let cold drafts blow right in.

One idea was to cut pipe insulation to fit against the RV wall fitted between the wall and slideout. My suspicion is that the wall is not perfectly plumb and as a result an air gap exists between the s;ide out and the wall.

Anyone tried this idea before?

I haven't done nor needed it but don't know what some of that self sticky foam insulation like they sell for windows, etc. wouldn't help seal it.

I cut the pipe insulation in half and put it in where there is a gap. It is usually along the top of the big slide as they sag over time. Big thing is to try and remember to remove the insulation before you pull the slides in all the way. I don't pull off the tape. Works for me.

Did you crawl under your slides and check them for adjustment? Some have adjusting nuts which can "travel" over time. Perhaps yours is no longer going out all the way. But be careful. You also do not want to bulge the sides of your trailer. This may be a good place for a trained technician.

Properly adjusted slideouts should provide a good seal. If you don't know how to do it then I would take it to a good shop or find a good certified mobile tech.

I agree with some of the posted members, adjusted by RV technician sounds like a good plan!

Check and make sure the foam around the slides are not rolling under. This can leave a gap and let air in. The bottom of our bedroom slide did this and just pulling it back into shape fixed the problem.

Agree.

If correctly adjusted, they should seal when extended and when closed.
